Lumbosacral radiculopathy following radiofrequency ablation therapy
Muscle & Nerve, 2003AbstractRadiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a treatment modality for several types of malignancies and vascular malformations. Only limited information is available on neurologic complications following RFA. We report three cases of acute lumbosacral radiculopathy after abdominal RFA, in two of which electrophysiologic studies were performed.

Radiofrequency ablation therapy of the posteroseptal accessory pathway
American Heart Journal, 1996Among 652 patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome who underwent radiofrequency ablation in this laboratory, 139 (21%) were found to have a total of 146 posteroseptal accessory pathways. Ablation was conducted by the regular transvenous or transaortic approach; ablation from cardiac venous structures was used only if regular approaches were ...

Therapy of HCC-radiofrequency ablation.
Hepato-gastroenterology, 2001Radiofrequency interstitial hyperthermia has been used for percutaneous ablation of hepatocellular carcinoma, under ultrasound guidance in local anesthesia. Conventional needle electrodes require a mean number of 3 sessions to treat tumors of diameter < or = 3 cm.

Non-Ablative Radiofrequency and Vaginal Dilation Therapy
Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent GynecologyRadiofrequency (RF) is indicated for degenerative processes that involve decreased or delayed metabolism, blood flow, and nutrition, typically associated with chronic conditions. This study evaluated the effects of non-ablative radiofrequency (RF) combined with vaginal dilation in patients with vaginal agenesis or vaginal stenosis.Ten patients were ...

Radiofrequency Ablation Therapy for Small Breast Cancer
Seminars in Ultrasound, CT and MRI, 2009There is increasing demand for minimally invasive and nonsurgical treatment methods for patients with small breast cancer, and radiofrequency (RF) ablation seems the most promising nonsurgical ablation technique for the treatment of breast cancer. However, a number of problems remain to be resolved in the practical use of RF ablation.

Thermal radiofrequency (TRF) of the saphenous nerve (a sensory nerve) combined with pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) of the sciatic nerve (a sensory and motor nerve) might relieve intractable stifle osteoarthritis (OA) pain in dogs. The objective was to determine if saphenous nerve TRF induces Wallerian degeneration and if sciatic nerve PRF induces ...

Adjuvant Therapy After Radiofrequency Ablation
2015It is commonly recognized that hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accounts for approximately 60–80 % recurrence rate after 5 years of radiofrequency thermal ablation (RFA) operation, even in small HCC patients who experienced complete ablative operation [1, 2].

Radiofrequency therapy in esthetic dermatology: A review of clinical evidences
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 2019AbstractBackgroundChronological skin aging causes the modification of genetic material through enzymes and proteins changes. The process reduces cellular proliferation, along with loss of tissue elasticity, reduced ability to regulate aqueous exchanges, and inefficient tissue replication.

Radiofrequency thermal ablation therapy for obstructive sleep apnea
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America, 2002Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is associated withrepetitive nocturnal airway obstruction, which in turnresults in daytime sleepiness and cardiovascularderangements [1] It is now known that many patientswith OSA have a diffused pattern of airway obstruc-tion including nasal, oropharyngeal, and hypophar-yngeal regions.

Radiofrequency ablation as local therapy for early breast carcinomas
Breast Cancer, 2010To evaluate the safety and efficacy of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) as a local therapy for early breast carcinomas, we performed a phase I/II study at our institution.Fifty patients with core-needle biopsy-proven breast carcinoma that was ≤ 3 cm in diameter on ultrasonography were enrolled in this study.
