HiST: Histological Images Reconstruct Tumor Spatial Transcriptomics via MultiScale Fusion Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HiST, a multiscale deep learning framework, reconstructs spatially resolved gene expression profiles directly from histological images. It accurately identifies tumor regions, captures intratumoral heterogeneity, and predicts patient prognosis and immunotherapy response.

Implementing a mobile diagnostic unit to increase access to imaging and laboratory services in western Kenya. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Access to basic imaging and laboratory services remains a major challenge in rural, resource-limited settings in sub-Saharan Africa. In 2016, the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare programme in western Kenya implemented a mobile diagnostic ...

Acetylation Regulates ACSL4 Degradation Through Chaperone‐Mediated Autophagy to Alleviate Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Intervertebral disc degeneration is triggered by ACSL4 accumulation‐mediated ferroptosis of nucleus pulposus cells due to CMA dysfunction. KAT2B promotes ACSL4 degradation via CMA through acetylation. AAV‐mediated LAMP2A delivery or engineered exosomes rescue nucleus pulposus cell senescence and disc degeneration.

Optically‐Coupled X‐Ray Computed Laminography System for High‐Speed Inspection of Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an optically coupled X‐ray computed laminography system for high‐speed inspection of lithium‐ion batteries. A scintillator serving as a virtual detector decouples spatial resolution from the X‐ray focal spot size, enabling defect detection even with large‐spot, high‐power X‐ray tubes.

Senescent Synovial Intimal Fibroblasts Aggravate Osteoarthritis by Regulating Macrophage Polarization and Chondrocyte Phenotype Through ANGPTL4‐α5β1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Senescent synovial intimal fibroblasts (SIF) are identified as key drivers of osteoarthritis. They promote M1 macrophage polarization and cartilage degeneration via the ANGPTL4–α5β1 axis, regulated by transcription factors EGR1 and ATF3. Pharmacological inhibition of this pathway alleviates disease, revealing SIF senescence as a promising therapeutic ...

Systematic review of MRI safety literature in relation to radiofrequency thermal injury prevention

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences
Introduction Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a rapidly evolving modality, generally considered safe due to lack of ionising radiation. While MRI technology and techniques are improving, many of the safety concerns remain the same as when first ...
