A RADIOIMMUNOASSAY OF THYROXINE

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1971
ABSTRACT A simple, sensitive, specific and precise radioimmunoassay (RIA) for measurement of serum thyroxine (T4) is described. The RIA employs rabbit anti-thyroglobulin antiserum as the T4-binding protein. The precision, reproducibility and practicality of the RIA are comparable to those of competitive protein binding assay (CPBA) using serum TBG as ...

A RADIOIMMUNOASSAY FOR NEUROTENSIN

Clinical Endocrinology, 1981
SUMMARYA specific radioimmunoassay for neurotensin has been developed with a sensitivity of 40 pg/ml. Neurotensin‐like immunoreactivity in human plasma shows characteristics similar to synthetic neurotensin on Sephadex G‐25 (f) gel chromatography.

RADIOIMMUNOASSAY OF STEROIDS

Acta Endocrinologica, 1970
ABSTRACT A number of radioimmunoassay systems have been developed for quantitation of a variety of steroid hormones. Suitable antisera were obtained by immunizing rabbits with steroid derivatives conjugated at various positions to bovine serum albumin. The specificity of the antisera varied directly with the position of conjugation.

Barbiturates: Radioimmunoassay

Science, 1971
The development of a radioimmunoassay for barbiturate is described. The barbiturate is made antigenic by coupling it to a protein, bovine gamma globulin. The radioimmunoassay can measure as little as 5 nanograms of barbiturate.

Radioimmunoassay for reserpine

Life Sciences, 1976
Abstract Antisera against reserpine have been developed in rabbits immunized with reserpine conjugated to bovine serum albumin. These antisera were used in a radioimmunoassay procedure for reserpine. No appreciable cross-reactivity was observed either with reserpine metabolites or with other drugs commonly used in conjunction with reserpine for the ...

Serotonin: Radioimmunoassay

Science, 1973
The development of a radioimmunoassay for serotonin is described. Serotonin is made antigenic by coupling it to bovine serum albumin. Thrombocyte-free plasma instead of serum from the immunized animals is used for radioimmunoassay. Less than 1 ng serotonin can be measured by this procedure.

Radioimmunoassay of polyacrylamide

Experientia, 1978
Antiserum to polyacrylamide has been produced in rabbits. It can be used in a sensitive radioimmunoassay for quantitation of polyacrylamide at very low concentrations. This novel approach to the analysis of a synthetic, biologically inactive, hydrocarbon polymer has potentially widespread implications, for example, in the downstream measurement of ...

The radioimmunoassay of buprenorphine

European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1980
Antisera to buprenorphine were obtained in rabbits immunised with 3-0-carboxymethylbuprenorphine and N-hemisuccinyl-norbuprenorphine conjugated to bovine serum albumin. Using the latter antiserum and tritium labelled buprenorphine a radioimmunoassay have good accuracy and precision was developed for concentrations as low as 50 picograms in 1 ml of ...

A radioimmunoassay for tetrahydrocortisol

Analytical Biochemistry, 1978
A radioimmunoassay for urinary tetrahydrocortisol (THF) is described. Antibodies were produced in rabbits against a THF-monohemisuccinate:bovine serum albumin conjugate. The radioimmunoassay procedure involves enzymic hydrolysis of the urine, extraction with ethyl acetate, radioimmunoassay, and separation of free from bound steroid with Somogyi ...

Radioimmunoassay for ribosomes

Analytical Biochemistry, 1972
Abstract A radioimmunoassay for quantitating ribosomes is presented. The assay allows for precise, efficient, and rapid estimation of ribosomes in small samples of tissue (50–100 mg).
