Processes and Products of Turbidity Currents and Submarine Landslides in a Glacierized Fjord (Southwind Fjord, Baffin Island)

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract Sediment transported to fjords is redistributed by turbidity currents and sometimes fails on steep sidewall slopes, forming marine geohazards that are known to impact infrastructure. Since marine geohazards are poorly understood in Arctic Fjords due to lack of data and monitoring, a comprehensive study of Southwind Fjord, Baffin Island, was ...

Is the Geodynamo Characterized by a Distinct Geomagnetic Secular Variation Regime During the Cretaceous Normal Superchron?

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract The Earth's magnetic field stochastically reversed its polarity over geological time, yet enigmatically interrupted this process during the Cretaceous Normal Superchron (CNS; 84–121 Ma). Two scenarios have been proposed in terms of either gradual or abrupt changes to describe the transition of the geodynamo from the CNS to a period with ...

Effect of Temperature and Mole Ratio on the Synthesis Yield of Rhenium-Tetrofosmin

open access: yesAtom Indonesia, 2015
Technetium-99m (99mTc) tetrofosmin is widely used in nuclear medicine as a diagnostic agent for myocardial perfusion and as a tumor imaging agent. As a parenteral preparation it requires an evaluation of its pharmacokinetics and stability in-vivo.

Accuracy of Non‐Invasive Imaging Techniques for the Diagnosis of MASH in Patients With MASLD: A Systematic Review

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a growing public health problem. The secondary stage in MASLD is steatohepatitis (MASH), the co‐existence of steatosis and inflammation, a leading cause of progression to fibrosis and mortality. MASH resolution alone improves survival.

Technetium ‐ The Unknown Center of the Periodic Table

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 9, March 21, 2025.
It took 78 years from Mendeleev's proposal of an existence of “eka‐manganese” (1869) until it was finally named as technetium in 1947. Another 78 years have passed since then. A good occasion to pinpoint what we know and what we still don't know of this element in the center of the periodic table.
