Air–sea feedback in the northeastern tropical Atlantic in boreal summer at intraseasonal time‐scales

This study investigates air–sea interactions in the northeastern tropical Atlantic at intraseasonal time‐scales, focusing on the feedback between sea‐surface temperature (SST) and surface winds. It finds that trade wind anomalies drive SST changes, creating a feedback loop that lasts 2–3 weeks.

Our study emphasizes the importance of advancing ALAN monitoring from space for ecology and conservation, and it highlights the novel opportunities of SDGSAT‐1. We discuss shortcomings that need to be resolved and identify promising avenues for sound ecological impact assessments of ALAN on ecosystems using space‐borne remote sensing.

Decreased multidrug resistance protein 1 and increased platelet activation in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome

There was a positive correlation between apnea/hypopnea index (AHI) index and platelet aggregation and a negative correlation between CD42b and multidrug resistance protein 1 (MRP1). Platelet activation was high while MRP1 expression was low in severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) independent of smoking, age, and gender.
