Multifrequency microwave thermograph for biomedical applications
This paper presents problems related to thermal radiation of human bodies in microwave range in aspect of diagnosis of breast carcinoma. A mathematical model of thermal radiation transfer through tissues is introduced and methods of measurement of ...

This regional‐scale field study shows that critically threatened freshwater pearl mussels rely substantially on terrestrial organic matter, indicating strong connectivity between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. However, human pressures at the catchment scale reduced this resource connectivity.

Disproportional ventilatory response to incremental exercise in individuals with cerebral palsy
Individuals with cerebral palsy demonstrate a disproportionate ventilatory response during incremental exercise. Compared with typically developing peers, respiratory frequency increases earlier and at comparable exercise intensities, contributing to higher perceived exertion and reduced ventilatory efficiency. At task failure, respiratory frequency is

Special Pyrheliometer Shroud Development [PDF]
To insure that the insolation values accurately represent the input power to a power conversion unit the field of view (FOV) of the concentrator aperture and the insolation radiometer must be the same.

Abstract The tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum, G. Cuvier 1818) thrives both in the ion‐poor waters of the Amazon and in commercial aquaculture. In both, environmental conditions can be harsh due to low ion levels, occasional high salt challenges (in aquaculture), low pH, extreme PO2 levels (hypoxia and hyperoxia), high PCO2 levels (hypercapnia), high ...

Noise-optimized silicon radiometers
This paper describes a new, experimentally verified, noise analysis and the design considerations of the dynamic characteristics of silicon radiometers. Transimpedance gain, loop gain, and voltage gain were optimized versus frequency for photodiode current meters measuring ac and dc optical radiation.

Tree growth response and adaptation to climate change and climate extremes: From canopy to stem
This review synthesizes the responses and adaptations of tree growth, including canopy phenology, intra‐annual wood formation dynamics, and annual stem growth, to climate change and climate extremes. It highlights key knowledge gaps for future research to support sustainable forest management and enhance forest carbon storage under ongoing climate ...

Comparison of Decadal Trends among Total Solar Irradiance Composites of Satellite Observations
We present a new analysis of the two-decade-old controversy over interpretation of satellite observations of total solar irradiance (TSI) since 1978 and the implications of our findings for TSI as a driver of climate change.

Three-dimensional vector modeling and restoration of flat finite wave tank radiometric measurements [PDF]
The three-dimensional vector interaction between a microwave radiometer and a wave tank was modeled. Computer programs for predicting the response of the radiometer to the brightness temperature characteristics of the surroundings were developed along ...
