Fundamental principles of absolute radiometry and the philosophy of this NBS program (1968 to 1971) [PDF]

open access: yes
A description is given work performed on a program to develop an electrically calibrated detector (also called absolute radiometer, absolute detector, and electrically calibrated radiometer) that could be used to realize, maintain, and transfer a scale ...

A Long‐Term (2012–2024) Data Set of Integrated Land–Atmosphere–Carbon–Hydrology Interactions Observations in Ningxiang, East Monsoon Region

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 12, Issue 3, July 2025.
The present study introduces an integrated observation platform of the land–atmosphere–carbon–hydrology interaction in the eastern monsoon region‐Ningxiang Station of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and provides a long‐term (2012–2024) integrated observation data set of the land‐atmosphere‐carbon‐hydrology interaction.

A balloon-borne cryogenically cooled filter radiometer [PDF]

open access: yes
The development of a cryogenically cooled filter radiometer for use with high altitude balloons is discussed. The radiometer has features which include the options for remote operation of two filter wheels each containing six filters at helium ...

From waste to reuse: Fenton degradation of anticancer drugs in hospital wastewater using iron mining residue

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, Volume 100, Issue 7, Page 1472-1481, July 2025.
Abstract BACKGROUND The heterogeneous photo‐Fenton process demands stable and efficient materials as catalysts to decompose hydrogen peroxide and generate reactive oxygen species to promote the degradation of organic contaminants in wastewater. In this study, the catalytic activity of an iron mining residue (IMR) was investigated for the heterogeneous ...

Global Patterns of Critical Soil Moisture and Seasonal Hydrological Regimes Derived From Soil Moisture and Diurnal Soil Temperature Range

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 61, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract The global distribution of hydrological regimes determines land‐atmosphere feedbacks by regulating the water, energy and carbon fluxes. Strong land‐atmosphere feedbacks are observed over the drier surface where evapotranspiration and partitioning of energy fluxes are regulated by soil moisture availability.

Induction of proximal tubular proliferation and lengthening in response to sodium glucose linked cotransporter‐2 inhibition in experimental rats

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 16, Issue 7, Page 1232-1242, July 2025.
While SGLT2 accounts for >90% of kidney glucose reabsorption, its pharmacological inhibition or genetic knockdown reduces glucose reabsorption by only 50%. We found that the SGLT2 inhibitor, dapagliflozin, induced an early, transient hyperplastic response in the SGLT1‐expressing S3 segment of the proximal tubule followed by an increase in its length ...
