Soil - Plant transfer of radionuclides in arid environments
Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2021The use of nuclear power as an environmentally friendly, and sustainable means for energy production is heavily under discussion. Despite this recently several countries with a predominantly arid climate have sought to develop or deploy nuclear energy production systems.

Transplacental Transfer of Radionuclides. A Review
Journal of Veterinary Medicine Series A, 1998SummaryTransplacental transfer of tritium (H), cesium (Cs), iodine (I), strontium (Sr) and plutonium (Pu) has been observed in all examined species with an active transfer mechanism for iodine, strontium and plutonium. Cesium and tritiated water freely cross the placenta and are distributed approximately uniformly in maternal as well as in fetal tissue.

Transfer of radionuclides to fruit
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 1997A study has been carried out to determine soil-plant transfer factors relevant to fruit crops. The current default values for137Cs, Pu and Am used in the NRPB food-chain model FARMLAND were generally higher than the TFs observed. Lower values would be more appropriate for general assessments.

Radionuclide transfer from feed to camel milk
Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2014The transfer of (137)Cs, (85)Sr, (131)I, (210)Po, (210)Pb and (238)U from feed to camel's milk was investigated in a pilot experiment with three lactating camels. For a period of 60 days, the animals were fed on spiked feed containing the studied radionuclides.

Radionuclide transfer to animal products: revised recommended transfer coefficient values
Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2009A compilation has been undertaken of data which can be used to derive animal product transfer coefficients for radionuclides, including an extensive review of Russian language information. The resultant database has been used to provide recommended transfer coefficient values for a range of radionuclides to (i) cow, sheep and goat milk, (ii) meat ...
