Transfer of Radionuclides to Plants: Influence on the Speciation of Radionuclides in Soil

2014
The quantification of the soil-to-plant transfer by means of transfer factor or concentration ratios values presents high range of variation, about 4–5 orders of magnitude for radiocesium. This range can be partially explained by the different association of radionuclides to soil particles, which can be assessed by speciation procedures.

Models for radionuclide transfer to fruits and data requirements

Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2001
This paper presents a review of available models for radionuclide transfer to fruit with particular emphasis on the model types and the purpose for which they were developed. It is clear that the model structures that have been developed range from the simple to the complex and that the underlying data on which they are based is incomplete.

Transfer and assimilation of radionuclides in marine ecosystems

2004
How rates of biological and physico-chemical factors influence self-purification processes of marine ecosystems is a key aspect in understanding the problem of Arctic Ocean and North Atlantic anthropogenic radioactivity. This complex radioecological problem has previously been outlined from a theoretical standpoint by many radioecologists (Vernadsky ...

Radionuclide transfer to fruits: a critical review. Introduction.

Journal of environmental radioactivity, 2001
This paper provides a brief introduction to fruit, their definition, classification and geographical distribution. In the following review, the term "fruit" refers not to a well-defined botanical plant part but, in the horticultural sense, to a component of the human diet generally consumed as a dessert item.

Radionuclide transfer to fruits: A critical review. Foreword.

Journal of environmental radioactivity, 2001
After completion of the (Validation of Environmental Model Predictions) (VAMP) and (BIOspheric Model Validation Study) (BIOMOVS II) Programmes, the Division of Radiation and Waste Safety of the IAEA decided to promote a new co-ordinated research programme to continue activities in the area of biosphere modelling.
