Materials‐Guided Gene‐Ionizable Lipid Nanoparticles to Reverse Iron‐Associated Immune Resistance in Renal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iron overload is a common metabolic disturbance in cancer and contributes to poor outcomes in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), yet its effects on the tumour immune microenvironment remain unclear. Here we identify a previously unrecognized immunosuppressive axis in which iron overload downregulates the palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC12 in CD8+ T cells ...

Adjuvant Intra-Arterial Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Versus Surgery Alone in Resectable Pancreatic and Periampullary Cancer A Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yes, 2008
Background: Success of surgical treatment for pancreatic and periampullary cancer is often limited due to locoregional recurrence and/or the development of distant metastases. Objective: The survival benefit of celiac axis infusion (CAI) and radiotherapy

Predictive and Prognostic Factors in Ovarian and Uterine Carcinosarcomas

open access: yesBalkan Medical Journal, 2016
Background: Prognostic factors and the standard treatment approach for gynaecological carcinosarcomas have not yet been clearly defined. Although carcinosarcomas are more aggressive than pure epithelial tumours, they are treated similarly.

Role of Adjuvant Radiotherapy in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesJournal of Gastric Cancer, 2023
Although continuous improvement in the treatment outcome of localized gastric cancer has been achieved through early screening, diagnosis, and treatment and the active application of surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy, the necessity of adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) remains controversial.

ABHD17C‐Mediated S‐Depalmitoylation of BCL6B Enhances CD24 Transcription to Resist Macrophage Phagocytosis in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABHD17C‐mediated depalmitoylation of BCL6B at Cys442 blocks its nuclear import and triggers ubiquitin‐dependent degradation, attenuating transcriptional repression of the anti‐phagocytic signal CD24. This mechanism enables pancreatic cancer cells to evade macrophage phagocytosis and fosters an immunosuppressive microenvironment.

Postoperative Radiotherapy after Radical Prostatectomy: Indications and Open Questions

open access: yesProstate Cancer, 2012
Biochemical relapse after radical prostatectomy occurs in approximately 15–40% of patients within 5 years. Postoperative radiotherapy is the only curative treatment for these patients. After radical prostatectomy, two different strategies can be offered,

Reprogramming the Immune Landscape of Inflammatory Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inflammatory breast cancer is the most lethal subtype of breast cancer and is characterized by an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) driven by a complex network of immune cells and inflammatory cytokines, contributing to its aggressiveness and treatment challenges. Immune checkpoint inhibitors, either alone or in combination, show potential
