Bilateral Monteggia fracture in adults [PDF]
Introduction. In 1814 Giovanni Monteggia first described two cases of fractures of the proximal third of ulna with dislocation of the radial head. These fractures are more common in children than in adults, and mutual Monteggia fracture is a rare ...

Understanding the Mass-Radius Relation for Sub-Neptunes: Radius as a Proxy for Composition
Transiting planet surveys like Kepler have provided a wealth of information on the distribution of planetary radii, particularly for the new populations of super-Earth and sub-Neptune sized planets. In order to aid in the physical interpretation of these

Neural Network Adaptive Control With Long Short‐Term Memory
ABSTRACT In this study, we propose a novel adaptive control architecture that provides dramatically better transient response performance compared to conventional adaptive control methods. This is accomplished by the synergistic employment of a traditional adaptive neural network (ANN) controller and a long short‐term memory (LSTM) network.

On the radius constants for classes of analytic functions [PDF]
Radius constants for several classes of analytic functions on the unit disk are obtained. These include the radius of starlikeness of a positive order, radius of parabolic starlikeness, radius of Bernoulli lemniscate starlikeness, and radius of uniform convexity. In the main, the radius constants obtained are sharp.

A Theory for the Radius of the Transiting Giant Planet HD 209458b
Using a full frequency-dependent atmosphere code that can incorporate irradiation by a central primary star, we calculate self-consistent boundary conditions for the evolution of the radius of the transiting planet HD 209458b.

Effect of cutting edge radius on surface roughness and tool wear in hard turning of AISI 52100 steel
Performance of cutting tool in hard turning is significantly influenced by its microgeometry, such as edge radius. This study presents an experimental exploration to understand the effect of cutting edge radius on machining performance in terms of ...

The axolotl's remarkable regenerative abilities decline with age, the causes may include the numerous repetitive elements within its genome. This study uncovers how Ty3 retrotransposons and coexpression networks involving muscle and immune pathways respond to aging and regeneration, suggesting that transposons respond to physiological shifts and may ...

On the spectral radius of unicyclic and bicyclic graphs with a fixed diameter [PDF]
The $\alpha$-spectral radius of a connected graph $G$ is the spectral radius of $A_\alpha$-matrix of $G$. In this paper, we discuss the methods for comparing $\alpha$-spectral radius of graphs. As applications, we characterize the graphs with the maximal $\alpha$-spectral radius among all unicyclic and bicyclic graphs of order $n$ with diameter $d ...

Experimental model of a bone gap by radial ostectomy in rabbits [PDF]
A lot of experimental models have been used to study the process of a fracture’s consolidation, but the problem is that due to anatomic, biologic and technical differences, these models do not always have appropriate parameters for the exact species, for

Epiphyseal Closure Time of Radius and Ulna Bones of the Proximal Section
Accurate determination of age is important in the legal process; when a person’s age is unknown or must be authenticated, a forensic age identification method must be applied.
