Effect of cutting edge radius on surface roughness and tool wear in hard turning of AISI 52100 steel

open access: yesThe International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2017
Performance of cutting tool in hard turning is significantly influenced by its microgeometry, such as edge radius. This study presents an experimental exploration to understand the effect of cutting edge radius on machining performance in terms of ...

A New Theory on the Derivation of Metacentric Radius Governing the Hydrostatic Stability of Ships

open access: yes, 2022
E(その他)In this paper, we develop a new theory on the derivation of the transverse metacentric radius which governs the hydrostatic stability of ships. As a new development in its derivation process, it was shown that the direction of movement of the ...

AN INVESTIGATION REGARDING NUTRIENT FORAMEN OF THE RADIUS

open access: yesİstanbul Tıp Fakültesi Dergisi
Objective: Arteries that provide nutrition to the long bones pass through openings called nutrient foramen (NF). The number of studies on NFs of the radius is quite scarce.

Epiphyseal Closure Time of Radius and Ulna Bones of the Proximal Section

open access: yesFolia Medica Indonesiana, 2018
Accurate determination of age is important in the legal process; when a person’s  age is unknown or must be authenticated, a forensic age identification method must be applied.

Triangular Index Ratio as an Alternative Method to the Alpha Angle for Defining the Presence of Cam Morphology: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Cam morphology, which is a significant risk factor for hip osteoarthritis, is commonly quantified by the alpha angle (AA). This study aims to explore the potential of the triangular index ratio (TIR) to quantify cam morphology on anteroposterior radiographs by assessing the association between TIR‐defined cam morphology and the development of

Geometric approach to define a railway plan model

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Математика сериясы
The construction of new railway lines is based on the railway plan. There are various ways to draw up a railway plan. The basis of all railway plans is a scheme of geometric point locations, the projection of the center of gravity of the carriage is on ...

Extraction of the Proton Charge Radius from Experiments

open access: yesMakara Journal of Science, 2016
The static properties of hadrons, such as their radii and other moments of the electric and magnetic distributions, can only be extracted using theoretical methods and cannot be directly measured from experiments.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
