The container with propeller was used to stir the water samples and release radon from the water into the air in a sample box of the RnSM. The “Tolerance Concentration” of Radon in the Atmosphere

Reasons are given for suspecting that radon in the atmosphere may be responsible for leucopœnia among radium workers. The radon concentrations measured in air samples taken from several radium laboratories are given. Mice have been kept in very low radon concentrations, and the effects on them are described. A survey of radon concentrations in Dutch dwellings reveals a median value of 24 Bq/m3, while no excessive high values were observed. Correlations between radon concentration and (combinations of) building parameters will be presented and discussed in terms of the various sources of indoor radon.
