Banana breeding by genome design
Bananas and plantains likely originated from hybridizations of four wild Musa species. This review highlights advances in banana genomics, genetics, and breeding, emphasizing genome sequencing breakthroughs and genomic‐assisted tools like selection and gene editing, and explores future prospects for improving key agronomic traits.

IbPIF1 confers stem nematode resistance by regulating secondary metabolites in sweet potato
Summary The stem nematode (Ditylenchus destructor Thorne) is a pervasive and destructive plant‐parasitic nematode worldwide, inflicting severe agricultural and economic losses in a wide range of crops. Despite its global impact, the molecular mechanisms underlying plant resistance to this pathogen remain poorly understood. Our previous studies in sweet

Master of Puppets: How Microbiota Drive the Nematoda Ecology and Evolution?
The nematode microbiota can influence life‐history traits, thereby shaping the species' ecology and evolutionary trajectories. ABSTRACT In recent decades, the microbiota has emerged as a key driver of biological functions in metazoans, and nematodes are no exception.

Lectin Binding to Radopholus citrophilus and R. similis Proteins.
Lectin-binding glycoproteins in seven populations of two burrowing nematode sibling species were probed with five different biotinylated lectins on Western blots, and differences were correlated with nematode ability to parasitize citrus and to overcome citrus rootstock resistance.

Naturally‐occurring nematicides of plant origin: two decades of novel chemistries
A review of structure–activity correlations for 262 plant‐derived nematicidal compounds for controlling plant parasitic nematodes is presented. Chemical structures, sources, and isolation procedures are summarized based on the major chemical groups. Abstract Plant‐parasitic nematodes are among the most destructive plant pathogens, resulting in a global

Genetic Improvement of Banana for Resistance to Xanthomonas Wilt in East Africa
ABSTRACT Banana (Musa spp.) is a staple food and income generation crop, feeding millions worldwide. However, the cultivation of bananas is challenging due to biotic and abiotic production constraints. Among these factors are pests and diseases, especially banana bacterial disease.

Wolbachia in Antarctic terrestrial invertebrates: Absent or undiscovered?
Endosymbiotic bacteria Wolbachia are recognized for their role in influencing host survival and stress resistance, particularly in cold environmental conditions across various species. However, our analysis of available data reveals a notable absence of Wolbachia in species abundant in the extreme cold conditions of Antarctica.

REAÇÃO DA PINHA (Annona squamosa L.) A TRÊS ESPÉCIES DE FITONEMATÓIDES
