Synthesis of star polymers using RAFT polymerization: What is possible? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Various pathways to generate star polymers using reversible addition?fragmentation transfer (RAFT) are discussed. Similar to other polymerization techniques, star polymers can be generated using arm-first and core-first approaches.

Affinity‐Tuned Albumin Hitchhiking Extends the Bioorthogonal Capture Window in Pretargeting Radiotheranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.

Rafting the Ethical Rapids [PDF]

open access: yesHEC Forum, 2006
Clinical ethics committees have a long tradition in hospitals, and since 1993 have been required for accreditation by any hospital of more than 200 beds. Their role has typically included assistance with the development and review of policies and guidelines affecting the care of individual patients; education in ethics for the physicians and clinical ...

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Plasma Membrane Lipid Domains as Platforms for Vesicle Biogenesis and Shedding?

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2018
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) contribute to several pathophysiological processes and appear as emerging targets for disease diagnosis and therapy. However, successful translation from bench to bedside requires deeper understanding of EVs, in particular ...

THE MYSTERIES OF A COMMON RUSSIAN WORDS (FENCE, BRIDGE, RAFT) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The article is devoted to the history of three words in Russian. They are all connected with labour and they appeared in professional communication between people. The words are zabor (fence), most (bridge) and plot (raft).

Additive Manufacturing of Ordered Polymer Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new 3D printing strategy, Polymerization‐Induced Arrangement of Nanostructures with Order‐tunability (PIANO), enables the formation of ordered nanostructures in polymer materials by enhancing chain mobility during photopolymerization, overcoming the kinetic arrest that leads to disordered morphologies in the conventional Polymerization‐Induced ...

Numerical Investigation of the Effect of Geocell-Reinforced Cushion on Load Distribution and Settlement Reduction in Unconnected Piled Raft Foundations

open access: yesFirat University Journal of Experimental and Computational Engineering
The effect of geocell-reinforced cushion on load distribution and settlement reduction in unconnected piled raft foundations was investigated. Modeling and analysis of various scenarios were carried out using Abaqus software. In this research, a total of

Highly Entangled Bottlebrush Polymer Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bottlebrush polymers are difficult to entangle, enabling ultrasoft yet brittle networks. We report highly entangled bottlebrush elastomers that remain ultrasoft (∼1 kPa) yet stretch to ∼1800% and exhibit exceptional fatigue resistance. Their intrinsic fatigue strength—fatigue threshold normalized by modulus—surpasses that of highly entangled linear ...
