An Improved Deep Learning Algorithm for Obstacle Detection in Complex Rail Transit Environments
IEEE Sensors JournalOnboard obstacle detection is a vital technology to ensure the safety of smart trains. Traditional object detection algorithms have poor detection accuracy for small obstacles and are challenging to cope with complex changes in rail transit environments.

The Local and Network Effects of Rail Transit Network Expansion on Retail Property Values
Journal of planning education and research, 2022Using Singapore as an example, we find that the opening of new rail transit lines can boost retail property values in areas not only along the new lines (local effect) but also along the existing lines (network effect) due to the increase in network size.

Energy Transition of Rail Transport: Assessing the competitiveness of decarbonized rail alternatives
2023This paper provides a method to measure the competitiveness of decarbonized rail alternatives. As there is not, to our knowledge, a standard method to evaluate the competitiveness of decarbonized rail alternatives compared to existing solutions, we proposed one.

Systematical Analysis of Rail Corrugation in Urban Rail Transit
Journal of Convergence Information Technology, 2013Abstract Rail corrugation is an adulatory wear which is similar to wave in shapes that can be observed on the rail rolling surface along the longitudinal direction after the rail is put into use. In this paper, a vehicle-track coupled finite element model is established to analyze the reason of rail corrugation systematically in urban rail transit. The

Mitigating unfairness in urban rail transit operation: A mixed-integer linear programming approach
Transportation Research Part B: Methodological, 2021In oversaturated urban rail transit systems, passengers departing from downstream stations often experience long waiting times due to unbalanced space-time demand and limited transit capacity.

Rail transit systems around the world benefit from increasingly sophisticated systems for electric propulsion, auxiliary power, control, and signaling. Applying these systems cost-effectively requires interoperability standards and testing procedures that guarantee EMC. This paper surveys the sources of EMI in rail transit from propulsion and auxiliary
