Relating object memory to word learning: Data from a new test of toddlers' object recognition

The study examined the relation between object memory and vocabulary in children during a period of rapid vocabulary growth. We used a new object recognition task designed for toddlers to ask (1) do children who know more words remember objects better and (2) do they remember familiar objects better than novel ones.
