A NEW RAINFALL SIMULATOR FOR USE IN LOW-ENERGY RAINFALL AREAS
Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 1998A sound assessment of hydrologic and erosional responses in wildland and agricultural ecosystems to rainfall requires that rainfall simulators mimic natural rainfall. The accuracy and usefulness of the assessment improves with increased similarity between natural and simulated rainfall.

A Critique of Methods of Simulating Rainfall
Water Resources Research, 1970Observations of drop size distributions in natural rainfall have shown that the range of drop sizes increases with increasing rainfall intensity. If a network of nozzles is used to generate artificial rainfall, an increase in working pressure increases the average intensity but decreases the range of drop sizes within the spray.

ELECTRONIC CONTROLS FOR RAINFALL SIMULATORS
Transactions of the ASAE, 1997Rainfall simulators provide control of natural environmental factors such as rainfall intensity and duration to determine basic information on hydrologic and chemical processes within watersheds. Three electronic controllers were designed to provide a range of solutions to automate rainfall simulators.
