Metabolic Reprogramming of a Phenolic Acid by a Plant P450 Monooxygenase Reverses Bacterial Immunosuppression

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 7, Page 4672-4688, July 2026.
Ralstonia solanacearum suppresses P450 activity to block VA‐to‐VanA conversion, leading to VA accumulation and compromised immunity. ABSTRACT Soil acidification often exacerbates plant diseases caused by soil‐borne pathogens like Ralstonia solanacearum, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive. This study unveils a sophisticated metabolic

Plant‐Derived Melatonin Inhibits Bacterial Virulence via CpxA/R Two‐Component System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
Plant‐derived melatonin is sensed by CpxAE48/T51, which inhibits the phosphorylation cascade transmission from CpxAH240 to CpxRD52, resulting in the inhibition of DNA‐binding capacity of CpxR and subsequent T3SS genes expression in Pst DC3000. ABSTRACT In defending against pathogens, plants deploy diverse secondary metabolites and signaling molecules ...

Susceptibility of Geranium Cultivars to Ralstonia solanacearum [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 2009
Sixty-one cultivars of geraniums, including zonal, regal, ivy, and scented, were tested for susceptibility to three strains of Ralstonia solanacearum : a race 1, biovar 1 (R1B1) strain P597 isolated from tomato in Florida, a R1B1 strain P673 obtained from pothos originated from Costa Rica ...

Correction to: Down-regulated lncRNA SBF2-AS1 inhibits tumorigenesis and progression of breast cancer by sponging microRNA-143 and repressing RRS1

open access: yesJournal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, 2020
In the original publication of this manuscript [1], RRS1 stands for ‘Ribosome biogenesis regulatory protein homolog’ instead of ‘resistance to ralstonia solanacearum 1’. This mistake appears 4 times in the manuscript.

Characterisation and In Planta Activity of Bacteriophages That Infect the Key Bacterial Species Associated With Acute Oak Decline

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2026.
Phages that infect the oak pathogens Brenneria goodwinii and Gibbsiella quercinecans were isolated. The phages were able to effectively reduce bacterial populations of their respective hosts in vitro. However, when applied in planta, the phages did not reduce host populations and instead phages and bacteria co‐existed over time.

Xanthomonas Type III Effector XopN Targets Scaffold Protein OsRACK1B to Suppress Rice Immunity

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 6, June 2026.
During infection, XopN is translocated into host cells and competes with OsRap2.6 for binding to OsRACK1B. This competitive interaction interferes with the formation of the OsRACK1B–OsRap2.6 subcomplex, thereby weakening plant resistance. ABSTRACT Bacterial leaf streak (BLS), caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv.

Potential Mechanism of Paenibacillus kribbensis in Boosting Sesame Productivity and Pathogen Defense Through Metabolic Reprogramming of Flavonoid and Carbon Fixation Pathways

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 15, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
This study demonstrates that the microbial agent HTB enhances sesame yield by 30% and disease resistance by modulating flavonoid biosynthesis, photosynthetic carbon fixation, and fatty acid synthesis. These integrated mechanisms provide a sustainable strategy for improving crop productivity and resilience.
