Electronic and Geometrical Structure of Potassium doped Phenanthrene [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
The geometrical and electronic structure of potassium doped phenanthrene, \ce{K3C14H10}, have been studied by first-principles density functional theory. The main effect of potassium doping is to inject charge in the narrow phenanthrene conduction band, rendering the system metallic.

Can Cu(II) ions be doped into the crystal structure of potassium hydrogen tartrate? [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The differing binding preferences of the hydrogen tartrate ligand (HC4H4O6)- namely {\mu}7-octadentate mode for potassium ion and bidentate mode for cupric ion rules out the doping (incorporation) of any Cu(II) ion into the crystal structure of potassium hydrogen tartrate. Hence, the claim of growth of copper doped potassium hydrogen tartrate viz.

Investigating the Selectivity of KcsA Channel by an Image Charge Solvation Method (ICSM) in Molecular Dynamics Simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we study the selectivity of the potassium channel KcsA by a recently developed image-charge solvation method(ICSM) combined with molecular dynamics simulations. The hybrid solvation model in the ICSM is able to demonstrate atomistically the function of the selectivity filter of the KcsA channel when potassium and sodium ions are ...

Enhancement of Kv1.3 Potassium Conductance by Extremely Low Frequency Electromagnetic Field [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Theoretical and experimental evidences support the hypothesis that extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields can affect voltage-gated channels. Little is known, however, about their effect on potassium channels. Kv1.3, a member of the voltage-gated potassium channels family originally discovered in the brain, is a key player in important ...

Evolution of the conductivity of potassium-doped pentacene films [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We have investigated the evolution of the temperature-dependent conductivity of electron-doped pentacene (PEN) thin films, in which the electron density is controlled by means of potassium (K) intercalation. We find that the conductivity is high and exhibit metallic temperature dependence in a broad range of concentrations up to approximately 1 K/PEN ...

Potassium fluoride doped LaOFeAs multiband superconductors: Evidence for extremely high upper critical field [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
We describe a new methodology of synthesizing the oxypnictide superconductors with potassium fluoride as a source as a source of fluorine instead of LaF3. This route also allows the substitution of potassium at lanthanum sites which leads to an increase in the upper critical field as would be expected for a multiband superconductor.
