Compact, fiber-compatible, cascaded Raman laser [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2003
Cascaded Raman Stokes lasing in an ultrahigh-Q silica microsphere resonator coupled to a tapered fiber is demonstrated and analyzed. With less than 900 μW of pump power near 980 nm, five cascaded Stokes lasing lines are generated.

High power tunable Raman fiber laser at 1.2 μm waveband [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers of Optoelectronics
Development of a high power fiber laser at special waveband, which is difficult to achieve by conventional rare-earth-doped fibers, is a significant challenge. One of the most common methods for achieving lasing at special wavelength is Raman conversion.

Phosphosilicate Fiber-Based Low Quantum Defect Raman Fiber Laser with Ultrahigh Spectral Purity [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
The phosphosilicate fiber-based Raman fiber laser (RFL) has great potential in achieving low-quantum defect (QD) high-power laser output. However, the laser’s performance could be seriously degraded by the Raman-assisted four-wave mixing (FWM) effect and

All-fiber highly efficient delivery of 2 kW laser over 2.45 km hollow-core fiber [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
Anti-resonant hollow-core fibers have emerged as an important medium for high-power laser delivery due to their low optical nonlinearity and high damage threshold.

Composite fiber Bragg grating written by femtosecond laser for Raman suppression in high-power fiber oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers of Optoelectronics
High-power fiber oscillators have been widely used in industrial processing, high-end manufacturing, biomedicine and so on. However, as the output power increase, stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) becomes the main factor limiting the performance ...

Fiber laser based stimulated Raman photothermal microscopy towards a high-performance and user-friendly chemical imaging platform [PDF]

open access: yesPhotoniX
Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy is a highly sensitive chemical imaging technique. However, the SRS imaging performance hinges on two key factors: the reliance on low-noise but bulky solid-state laser sources and stringent sample requirements

Intra-Cavity Raman Laser Operating at 1193 nm Based on Graded-Index Fiber

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
Nonlinear Raman frequency conversion is an important technical scheme to obtain special optical band lasers based on conventional ion-doped lasers. In our work, we designed an intra-cavity Raman fiber laser based on graded index fiber (GRIF) as the Raman

D2-Filled Hollow-Core Fiber Gas Raman Laser at 2.15 μm

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
Fiber lasers around 2 µm band have attractive applications, such as coherent detecting, material processing, pump source for mid-IR lasers based on nonlinear frequency shift, etc. Fiber gas Raman lasers (FGRLs) based on the stimulated Raman scattering of

All-Fiber Gas Raman Laser by D2-Filled Hollow-Core Photonic Crystal Fibers

open access: yesPhotonics, 2021
We report here an all-fiber structure tunable gas Raman laser based on deuterium-filled hollow-core photonic crystal fibers (HC-PCFs). An all-fiber gas cavity is fabricated by fusion splicing a 49 m high-pressure deuterium-filled HC-PCF with two solid ...

Fiber Raman Amplifiers and Fiber Raman Lasers [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is a nonlinear optical effect, observed for the first time in 1962, which lies at the heart of fiber Raman amplifiers and fiber Raman lasers [...]
