Spectral broadening in Raman fiber lasers
Optics Letters, 2006We present an analytical theory based on wave kinetic equations that describes a Raman fiber laser (RFL) generation spectrum. It is shown both theoretically and experimentally that the quasi-degenerate four-wave mixing between different longitudinal modes is the main broadening mechanism in the one-stage RFL at high powers.

Distributed feedback fiber Raman laser
IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 2001We analyze the properties of a distributed feedback fiber laser based on Raman amplification. Such a laser is quite practical and has a number of novel properties. We model numerically the laser dynamics, analyze in detail the role of the nonlinear refractive index of the fiber and argue on the optimal design parameters.
