Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Ultrafast Raman laser mode-locked by nanotubes [PDF]
We demonstrate passive mode-locking of a Raman fiber laser using a nanotube-based saturable absorber coupled to a net normal dispersion cavity. This generates highly chirped 500 ps pulses.

A 4.8-kW high-efficiency 1050-nm monolithic fiber laser amplifier employing a pump-sharing structure
The power scaling of ytterbium-doped fiber (YDF) lasers emitting at the wavelength range of 1030 nm–1060 nm has been limited by amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) effect, and transverse mode instability (TMI).

Extreme value statistics in Raman fiber lasers [PDF]
We present the numerical study of the statistical properties of the partially coherent quasi-CW high-Q cavity Raman fiber laser. The statistical properties are different for the radiation generated at one or many cavity passes. It is found that rare extreme events are generated at the far spectral wings of the spectrum.
