Fiber Raman Amplifiers and Fiber Raman Lasers [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is a nonlinear optical effect, observed for the first time in 1962, which lies at the heart of fiber Raman amplifiers and fiber Raman lasers [...]

Micro and Nano Raman Lasers [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
Raman lasers (RLs) are a class of optically pumped laser, offering coherent lights at any desired wavelength by a proper choice of the pump wavelength, when both wavelengths are within the transparency region of the gain material and an adequately high nonlinearity and/or optical intensity are provided [...]

Single-mode silica microsphere Raman laser tunable in the U-band and beyond

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
We demonstrate experimentally a silica microresonator-based single-mode Raman laser tunable in the U-band and beyond. The Stokes wavelength is tuned in the 1631–1685 nm range when tuning a C-band pump laser in the 1520–1570 nm range.

Superradiant Raman laser magnetometer [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2012
We demonstrate a proof-of-principle magnetometer that relies on the active oscillation of a cold atom Raman laser to continuously map a field-sensitive atomic phase onto the phase of the radiated light. We demonstrate wideband sensitivity during continuous active oscillation, as well as narrowband sensitivity in passive Ramsey-like mode with ...

Widely-tunable, multi-band Raman laser based on dispersion-managed thin-film lithium niobate microring resonators

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2023
Stimulated Raman scattering is an attractive way to extend the operation spectral range of optical sources. However, the spectral extension range of a tunable Raman laser is limited by the Raman frequency shift and pump tuning bandwidth.

A High Efficient Dual-Wavelength Mid-Infrared Optical Parametric Oscillator Pumped by the Raman Fiber Oscillator

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
In this paper, a novel high efficient dual-wavelength mid-infrared optical parametric oscillator (OPO) was demonstrated, which was pumped by a dual-wavelength Raman fiber oscillator for the first time.

High efficiency ethane Raman laser pumped by 532 nm laser

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2023
In this work, 532 nm laser was used as the pump source and pressurized ethane was used as Raman active medium; 631.3 nm first Stokes (S1) and 776.0 nm second Stokes (S2) Raman lasers were generated.

Integrated diamond Raman laser pumped in the near-visible. [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2017
Using a high-Q diamond microresonator (Q>300,000) interfaced with high-power-handling directly-written doped-glass waveguides, we demonstrate a Raman laser in an integrated platform pumped in the near-visible.

Diode-pumped, actively Q-switched Nd,La:CaNb2O6 self-Raman laser at 1,174 nm

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
Diode end-pumped Nd,La:CaNb2O6 self-Raman laser with acousto-optic Q-switching was successfully demonstrated for the first Stokes wave generation at 1,174 nm. A 1.0 at.% Nd3+ and 1.0 at.% La3+-doped CaNb2O6 crystal in dimensions 3 × 3 × 14.3 mm3 was used
