The influence of phase-modulation on femtosecond time-resolved coherent Raman spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The influence of phase-modulation on femtosecond time-resolved coherent Raman scattering is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The coherent Raman signal taken as a function of the spectral position shows unexpected temporal oscillations close

Transient Stimulated Raman Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 1992
The authors consider the system of partial differential equations \[ {\partial u\over \partial\xi}= -zv,\;{\partial v\over \partial\xi}= \bar zu,\;{\partial z\over \partial\tau}= u\bar v- \gamma z \] which model the interaction of two laser beams with gases when the frequency difference between the beams corresponds to a resonance of the gas molecules.

Raman scattering in current carrying molecular junctions. A preliminary account

open access: yes, 2008
This is a preliminary acount of a theory for Raman scattering by current-carrying molecular junctions. The approach combines a non-equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) description of the non-equilibrium junction with a generalized scattering theory ...

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering holography [PDF]

open access: yesNature Nanotechnology, 2020
Nanometric probes based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) are promising candidates for all-optical environmental, biological and technological sensing applications with intrinsic quantitative molecular specificity. However, the effectiveness of SERS probes depends on a delicate trade-off between particle size, stability and brightness that ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Phonon Raman scattering of perovskite LaNiO3 thin films

open access: yes, 2010
We report an investigation of perovskite-type LaNiO3 thin films by Raman scattering in both various scattering configurations and as a function of temperature. The room-temperature Raman spectra and the associated phonon mode assignment provide reference

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Albedo and laser threshold of a diffusive Raman gain medium

open access: yes, 2010
The diffuse reflectance (albedo) and transmittance of a Raman random gain medium are calculated via semi-analytic two-stream equations with power-dependent coefficients. The results show good agreement with the experimental data for barium nitrate powder.

Kinetic Insights into Precursor‐Assisted Soft Sphere Close Packing Revealed by In Situ GISAXS with Implications for Gas Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The versatile precursor‐assisted soft sphere close packing during slot‐die coating is investigated with in situ X‐ray scattering. The soft crystallization pathways towards a close packing involve multistep structural transitions such as surface nucleation, in‐plane, and out‐of‐plane crystallization.

Two-magnon Raman scattering in spin-ladder geometries and the ratio of rung and leg exchange constants

open access: yes, 2000
We discuss ways in which the ratio of exchange constants along the rungs and legs of a spin-ladder material influences the two-magnon Raman scattering spectra and hence can be determined from it.
