Optical Anisotropy in Ramie Fibers

Textile Research Journal, 1985
Multiple beam Fizeau fringes in transmission and at reflection were used to de termine several optical properties of ramie fibers: the refractive indices of the fiber for monochromatic light vibrating parallel and perpendicular to the fiber axis and the birefringence of the fibers.

Effects of amino silicone oil modification on properties of ramie fiber and ramie fiber/polypropylene composites

Materials & Design, 2015
Abstract The effects of amino silicone oil modification on the properties of ramie fiber and ramie/polypropylene composites were investigated with experiments and molecular dynamics simulation. First, the effects of amino silicone oil treatments on the properties of ramie and ramie/polypropylene composites were investigated by experiments.

Comparative analysis of hydrothermal properties of ramie fiber‐reinforced phenolic resin and ramie fiber‐reinforced unsaturated polyester composites

Polymer Composites, 2023
AbstractRamie fiber‐reinforced polymer (RFRP) composites are widely used in various fields owing to their environmental friendliness and cost efficiency. To understand the influence of different resin matrices on the mechanical properties and durability of RFRP composites under the same conditions and obtain better performance, ramie fiber‐reinforced ...

Effects of Ramie Fiber Treatment on Thermo-Oxidative Properties of High-Density Polyethylene/Ramie Fiber Composites

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
On the investigations on the flexural properties, color stability and melting properties, the effects of treating ramie fiber with silane coupling agent on the anti-thermo-oxidative aging properties of high density polyethylene(HDPE)/ ramie fiber composites were studied. The results show that, treating the fiber with 3% coupling agent can improve the ...

Study on length distribution of ramie fibers

The Journal of The Textile Institute, 2017
AbstractThe extra-long length of ramie fibers and the high variation in fiber length has a negative impact on the spinning processes. In order to better study the feature of ramie fiber length, in this research, the probability density function of the mixture model applied in the characterization of cotton fiber length was used to fit the ramie fiber ...

Study on the Oxidation Degumming of Ramie Fiber

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
In this paper, ramie was degummed with hydrogen peroxide and then reduced with reducer. The reducing process can improved the strength and softness of the fiber by 20.96% and 23.88%, respectively. A comparison was made between the fiber oxidation degummed with reducing and degummed with traditional method.

Effects of surface treatment of ramie fibers in a ramie/poly(lactic acid) composite

Fibers and Polymers, 2012
The chemical and morphological properties of ramie fibers treated by chemical surface modification were examined with Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The mechanical and thermal decomposition properties were evaluated with respect to tensile strength, tensile modulus and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).

III. Morphometry of Myelinated Fibers of Rami Communicantes

Journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology, 1978
The myelinated fiber (MF) composition of T6-T8 Rami Communicantes were obtained in 9 healthy persons of various ages. The textbook picture that distal rami (DR) contain all of the myelinated fibers and therefore are white, while proximal rami (PR) contain none of them and therefore are grey must be modified.

A Study of Ramie Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene Composites

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
Ramie fibers were incorporated into polypropylene as the reinforcement fillers. The transesterification between the hydroxyl groups of ramie fiber and the ester of maleic anhydride was employed to improve the compatibility of ramie fibers and the polypropylene matrix. The morphology of the composite surfaces and interfaces were studied using IR and SEM.

Property of ramie fiber degummed with Fenton reagent

Fibers and Polymers, 2017
This paper investigated the performance and morphology of ramie fibers degummed using Fenton reagent. In order to deeply understand the reaction characteristics, SEM, XRD and FT-IR were employed to characterize the morphologies, chemical components and crystallinity of degummed fibers.
