An alkali-free method to manufacture ramie fiber

open access: yesTextile Research Journal, 2018
Ramie is one of the most important fiber resources and it needs the degumming process to produce fibers. The traditional manufacturing process of ramie fibers requires a large amount of alkali, which causes serious environmental issues. This paper provides a novel path to manufacture ramie fibers without alkali.

Eco-Friendly Degumming Technology for Ramie Fiber

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2016
Ramie fiber represents almost 25–28% gum in its decorticated form. Unlike other common lignocellulosic bast fibers, e.g., jute, kenaf, etc., ramie is difficult to ret naturally. However, effective removal of gum from ramie determines its appropriate end-uses.

Real‐time quality and safety monitoring of fruit juice using paper‐based platform

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, Volume 3, Issue 1, Page 140-162, March 2026.
Schematic illustration of a paper‐based biosensor for rapid detection of fruit juice spoilage. Abstract Food spoilage and safety concerns still remain critically challenging within the fruit juice industry, especially as conventional detection methods, though precise, are often too time‐consuming, costly, and reliant on centralized laboratories.
