RECIPROCITY SHEAVES AND THEIR RAMIFICATION FILTRATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Institute of Mathematics of Jussieu, 2018
We define a motivic conductor for any presheaf with transfers F using the categorical framework developed for the theory of motives with modulus by Kahn, Miyazaki, Saito and Yamazaki.

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

The Gieseker–Petri theorem and imposed ramification [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 2018
We prove a smoothness result for spaces of linear series with prescribed ramification on twice‐marked elliptic curves. In characteristic 0, we then apply the Eisenbud–Harris theory of limit linear series to deduce a new proof of the Gieseker–Petri ...

Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

On the necessity of new ramification breaks

open access: yes, 2009
Ramification invariants are necessary, but not in general sufficient, to determine the Galois module structure of ideals in local number field extensions. This insufficiency is associated with elementary abelian extensions, where one can define a refined

Network and ramifications: Relational perspectives in plant cognition

open access: yesRivista Internazionale di Filosofia e Psicologia, 2022
This paper aims to propose a relational approach to the study of cognition that can offer a perspective on the cognitive behaviours of plants – sessile organisms without a nervous system – when considered in the reciprocal interrogation of philosophy and

Ramification of stream networks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2012
The geometric complexity of stream networks has been a source of fascination for centuries. However, a comprehensive understanding of ramification—the mechanism of branching by which such networks grow—remains elusive. Here we show that streams incised by groundwater seepage branch at a characteristic angle of 2 π ...

A galaxy study by using the line-density method [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Astronomical Journal, 2000
The authors calculate the line (number) density for various cases of spatial distribution concerning the galactic matter. They find that this projecting on the galactic rotation axis can offer an important contribution to achieving a good ramification of

Human NK Cell Diversity in Viral Infection: Ramifications of Ramification [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2016
Natural killer (NK) cells are a unique lymphocyte lineage with remarkable agility in the rapid destruction of virus-infected cells. They are also the most poorly understood class of lymphocyte. A spectrum of activating and inhibitory receptors at the NK cell surface leads to an unusual and difficult-to-study mechanism of cellular recognition, as well ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
