Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras, 2017
This work introduces a multimodal multiview camera network for role identification and re-identification in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) room, where identifying individuals is not permitted. The analysis challenges include imaging conditions such as medical isolation (where all visitors wear scrubs), poor and non-uniform illumination, or variable ...

Thickening of the nail plated (onychogryphosis) can (a) result in the nail curling and achieving the appearance of a ram’s horn. We report a patient with ram’s horn nails after long-term neglect.

Previous studies show that intra-cluster communication easily becomes a major performance bottleneck for a wide range of small write-sharing workloads especially read-only workloads in modern clustered network servers. A Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) technique has been recommended by many researchers to address the problem but how to well utilize ...

Within the framework of this PhD thesis, a solid theoretical analysis was developed, describing the frequency transfer function of two of the main optical memory circuit categories, those based on coupled switching elements and those based on a single switching element and a feedback loop, taking into account all of their architectural aspects.

In an abattoir survey conducted in south‐west England, 15 of 6521 rams aged three to 12 months had hypospadias; in 27 others the scrotum was completely or partly divided, but they had no other abnormalities of the urinary or genital systems. The lesions observed in 11 of the rams in the abattoir survey, and in four young rams and one mature ram found ...

CMOS dynamic-RAMs approach static RAM speeds
IEEE Circuits and Devices Magazine, 1985The advantages of CMOS circuitry for dynamic RAM (DRAM) performance are discussed. First, static and dynamic memories are compared. Then, address multiplexing techniques for DRAMs are considered, and it is shown how CMOS circuitry allows effective use of continuously powered-up address buffers (as found in the fastest SRAMs). The overall improvement in

In this diploma thesis is presented the problem of Memory Wall and the need to implement optical RAM memory. The aim of this thesis is to explore and identify the factors that lead to the design of optical memories. We must find a way to implement the individual pieces of logic gates.
