Optimal Treatment Allocation under Constraints [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In optimal policy problems where treatment effects vary at the individual level, optimally allocating treatments to recipients is complex even when potential outcomes are known. We present an algorithm for multi-arm treatment allocation problems that is guaranteed to find the optimal allocation in strongly polynomial time, and which is able to handle ...

Optimum allocation in multivariate stratified random sampling: Stochastic matrix optimisation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
The allocation problem for multivariate stratified random sampling as a problem of stochastic matrix integer mathematical programming is considered. With these aims the asymptotic normality of sample covariance matrices for each strata is established. Some alternative approaches are suggested for its solution.

Prefrontal FGF1 Signaling is Required for Accumbal Deep Brain Stimulation Treatment of Addiction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research delineates that a cortical‐accumbal pathway and local FGF1 signaling in the medial prefrontal cortex are critical for NAc‐DBS to be effective in altering morphine CPP. These findings demonstrate a top‐down motif to regulate the therapeutic effects of subcortical DBS on addiction and support the potential for addiction treatments involving

Species identification in fish meal from urban fisheries biomass with DNA metabarcoding analysis

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 2, Issue 6, Page 562-571, December 2022., 2022
Fish species constructing fish meal (FM) made from urban fisheries biomass, which is fisheries by‐products collected downstream in the seafood supply chain were detected with a DNA metabarcoding method. 81–122 species were detected in the FM, and fish species indicated as Critically Endangered (CR) or Endangered (EN) on the International Union for ...

Multivariate stratified sampling by stochastic multiobjective optimisation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
This work considers the allocation problem for multivariate stratified random sampling as a problem of integer non-linear stochastic multiobjective mathematical programming. With this goal in mind the asymptotic distribution of the vector of sample variances is studied.

Psychedelic Drugs in Mental Disorders: Current Clinical Scope and Deep Learning‐Based Advanced Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphic illustration showing the strategic approaches based on the currently investigated evidence of psychedelics that suggests the challenges and how to address the prescription of mental disorders. These applicable avenues may provide substantial insight into distinguishing between brain networks and psychedelics.

A pilot randomized controlled trial of WeiNaoKang (SaiLuoTong) in treating vascular dementia

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, Volume 5, Issue 4, Page 246-256, December 2022., 2022
A 16‐week randomized double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trial for vascular dementia was carried out with WeiNaoKang (or SaiLuoTong). There were significant differences in improvement in cognitive function and activities of daily living, favouring the treatment group.

Paired Course and Dorm Allocation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Consider a university administrator who must assign students to both courses and dorms, and runs (random) serial dictatorship independently in each market. While serial dictatorship is efficient for each individual matching problem holding the other fixed, Pareto improvements can be found via students jointly trading their allocated course and dorm. To

A modified Prékopa's approach in optimum allocation in multivariate stratified random sampling [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
A modified Prekopa's approach is considered for the problem of optimum allocation in multivariate stratified random sampling. An example is solved by applying the proposed methodology.
