Mild Focal Cooling Decouples Dendrites to Reconfigure Cortical Output

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 34, 19 June 2026.
Mild cooling of the cortical surface selectively modulates apical dendritic excitability, plasticity, and somato‐dendritic coupling, while uncoupling these effects from basal dendrites, and reshapes apical‐driven responses in barrel cortex during whisker touch.

Backpropagation Network‐Based Contrastive Learning for Unsupervised Domain Adaptation

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
Unsupervised domain adaptation for contractive learning. ABSTRACT This study introduces a new method for domain adaptation for image classification tasks that aims to improve the model's performance on a target domain after being trained on a source domain.

Fluid Physics in a Fluctuating Acceleration Environment

open access: yes, 1996
We summarize several aspects of an ongoing investigation of the effects that stochastic residual accelerations (g-jitter) onboard spacecraft can have on experiments conducted in a microgravity environment.

Experimental Factors and Techniques for Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Enhancement: A Critical Review

open access: yesHeat Transfer, Volume 55, Issue 4, Page 2201-2232, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This review presents a comprehensive assessment of active strategies for enhancing pool boiling heat transfer, with a focus on techniques that do not rely solely on the boiling surface modification. It examines a broad range of methodologies including fluid additives, external fields, mechanical interventions, and thermal‐geometric tuning that

Family‐Involved Hybrid Voice Therapy for Pediatric Vocal Fold Nodules in School‐Aged Children: Clinical Outcomes and Socioeconomic Associations

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective(s) To evaluate the effectiveness of a family‐involved hybrid voice therapy program in children with vocal fold nodules using multidimensional voice outcomes (objective acoustic, auditory‐perceptual, and parent‐reported measures) and to examine whether family socioeconomic opportunity is associated with baseline burden or ...

K‐CC‐MoCo: A Fast k‐Space‐Based Respiratory Motion Correction for Highly Accelerated First‐Pass Perfusion Cardiovascular MR

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 6, Page 3536-3549, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose First‐pass perfusion cardiovascular MR (FPP‐CMR) enables the non‐invasive diagnosis of microcirculation and coronary artery disease. In free‐breathing FPP‐CMR, motion correction is usually performed in the image domain, requiring an initial reconstruction.

DOA estimation with anti-jitter based on DMA heterogeneous codebook cyclic Kalman filtering

open access: yesDianxin kexue
The dynamic metasurface antenna (DMA) has become an innovative technology designed to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) for airborne platforms. However, its performance can be significantly impacted by platform jitter.

Sampling, Mobility, and Anchoring in Small‐Body Sampling Robots: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesSmartBot, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
Small‐body sampling robots are exploration systems that perform contact, sampling, and stable operations on microgravity bodies such as asteroids and comets. The authors review representative robot architectures and key technologies, focusing on the mechanisms, evolution, and coupling of sampling, mobility, and anchoring.

Physics‐Informed Bayesian Optimisation of Utility‐Scale Wind Farms in Synthetically Generated Complex Terrain Using LES

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Optimising turbine layouts to maximise power output is crucial for wind farm development, particularly in complex terrain where analytical wake models fail to capture key flow physics. We present the first application of Bayesian optimisation (BO) combined with large eddy simulations (LES) for utility‐scale wind farm layout optimisation in ...

Prevalence and Spatial Distribution of Chronic Respiratory Diseases in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: Hydrological and Household Influences

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 10, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Chronic Respiratory Diseases (CRDs) are a major global health burden, causing significant mortality and morbidity. The World Health Organization reports CRDs led to 4.1 million deaths in 2023, affecting 454.6 million people (5.54% globally). While tobacco smoking is the leading risk factor, others include air pollution, occupational hazards ...
