Synchronization and Random Attractors in Reaction Jump Processes

open access: yesJournal of Dynamics and Differential Equations
Abstract This work explores a synchronization-like phenomenon induced by common noise for continuous-time Markov jump processes given by chemical reaction networks. Based on Gillespie’s stochastic simulation algorithm, a corresponding random dynamical system is formulated in a two-step procedure, at first for the states of the embedded ...

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Random Attractors of Stochastic Three-Component Reversible Gray-Scott System on Unbounded Domains

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
The existence of a pullback random attractor is established for a stochastic three-component reversible Gray-Scott system on unbounded domains. The Gray-Scott system is recast as a random dynamical system and asymptotic compactness which is illustrated ...

Did a Non‐Medical Biosimilar Switching Policy Cause an Increase in Non‐Biologic/Biosimilar Health Care Resource Utilization or Cost in Patients With Inflammatory Arthritis?

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a series of policies that mandated switching patients with inflammatory arthritis (IA) from an originator biologic to a biosimilar in British Columbia, Canada, on health care resource use and cost.

Existence and upper semicontinuity of random attractors for stochastic p-Laplacian equations on unbounded domains

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
The existence of a pullback attractor is established for a stochastic p-Laplacian equation on $\mathbb{R}^n$. Furthermore, the limiting behavior of random attractors of the random dynamical systems as stochastic perturbations approach zero is studied ...

Improvements in Health‐Related Quality of Life With Treat‐to‐Target Urate‐Lowering Therapy in Gout: A Post Hoc Analysis of a Randomized Multicenter Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Although treat‐to‐target urate‐lowering therapy (ULT) is endorsed as best practice in gout management, limited data exist on its impact on health‐related quality of life (HRQoL). We assessed the impact of treat‐to‐target ULT on HRQoL among participants receiving protocolized gout care, identifying factors associated with HRQoL and HRQoL ...

Economic Burden of Rheumatoid Arthritis in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries: Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The aim of this systematic review was to synthesize the economic impact of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) on households, health systems, and society in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Methods Electronic databases such as PubMed, Web of Science, and CINAHL were searched using keywords related to RA and cost of illness.

Hip Morphology–Based Osteoarthritis Risk Prediction Models: Development and External Validation Using Individual Participant Data From the World COACH Consortium

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aims to develop hip morphology‐based radiographic hip osteoarthritis (RHOA) risk prediction models and investigates the added predictive value of hip morphology measurements and the generalizability to different populations. Methods We combined data from nine prospective cohort studies participating in the Worldwide Collaboration ...
