Theoretical Analysis of Resonant Inelastic X-Ray Scattering Spectra in LaMnO3
We analyze the resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) spectra at the K edge of Mn in the antiferromagnetic insulating manganite LaMnO3. We make use of the Keldysh-type Green-function formalism, in which the RIXS intensity is described by a product of

High-resolution and broadband all-fiber spectrometers
The development of optical fibers has revolutionized telecommunications by enabling long-distance broad-band transmission with minimal loss. In turn, the ubiquity of high-quality low-cost fibers enabled a number of additional applications, including ...

Machine learning approaches for imputing missing meteorological data in Senegal
This study presents the first comprehensive evaluation in West Africa of four imputation methods, Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGB), and Ordinary Kriging (OK), applied to six core meteorological variables across ...

Black hole spins in coalescing binary black holes
The possible formation mechanisms of massive close binary black holes (BHs) that can merge in the Hubble time to produce powerful gravitational wave bursts detected during advanced LIGO O1 and O2 science runs include the evolution from field low ...

Evaluating critical bits in arithmetic operations due to timing violations [PDF]
Various error models are being used in simulation of voltage-scaled arithmetic units to examine application-level tolerance of timing violations. The selection of an error model needs further consideration, as differences in error models drastically ...

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Shearer's point process, the hard-sphere model and a continuum Lov\'asz Local Lemma [PDF]
A point process is R-dependent, if it behaves independently beyond the minimum distance R. This work investigates uniform positive lower bounds on the avoidance functions of R-dependent simple point processes with a common intensity.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
