Generation of narrow modes within incoherent radiation of random distributed feedback fiber laser

, 2020
Random distributed feedback fibre lasers are well known type of fiber lasers where the optical feedback is organized via amplified Rayleigh scattering on random in space sub-micron refractive index inhomogenities1.

Random Distributed Feedback Raman Fiber Lasers

2017
In this chapter we briefly review the basic principles of Raman fiber lasers operating via random distributed feedback, including details of feedback mechanism, various cavity designs, and corresponding power and spectral characteristics, as well as their statistical properties. We also compare performances of the random Raman fiber lasers (RRFLs) with

Random-distributed feedback fiber lasers based on Rayleigh scattering

Optoelectronics, Instrumentation and Data Processing, 2013
Single-mode optical fibers have been widely used in optical communications, and effective fiber lasers have been designed on the basis of active fibers with linear or ring cavities. In fiber lasers, the distance between the cavity mirrors can reach 270 km (the maximum length is determined by the linear attenuation and nonlinear dephasing of the waves).

The rising power of random distributed feedback fiber laser

2017 International Conference on Optical Instruments and Technology: Advanced Laser Technology and Applications, 2018
Random distributed feedback fiber lasers (RDFFL) are now attracting more and more attentions for their unique cavity-free, mode-free and structural simplicity features and broadband application potentials in many fields, such as long distance sensing, speck free imaging, nonlinear frequency conversion as well as new pump source.

Multi-Wavelength Brillouin Random Fiber Laser via Distributed Feedback From a Random Fiber Grating

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2018
Multi-wavelength (MW) laser sources with high optical signal-to-noise ratios (OSNR) are of great interest for optical communications with ultrahigh data capacity as well as microwave and terahertz photonics. In this paper, we report the first demonstration of MW Brillouin random fiber laser in the telecom spectral window around 1.5 μm based on a unique

Narrow-band Radiation in the Random Distributed Feedback Fiber Laser

European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication, 2012
Narrow-band generation is achieved in random distributed feedback (RDFB) fiber laser by using narrow-band filters in the center of a distributed cavity. The resulting line-width of ~0.1 nm is 10 times less than line-width in classical random distributed feedback fiber laser. Spectral properties can be optimized further.
