Convergence in distribution of nonmeasurable random elements
Convergence in distribution of the empirical process for exchangeable sequences of non-measur\-able random elements is investigated. Hoffmann-Jørgensen's definition of convergence in distribution of non-measurable random elements is extended to the case of a non-measurable limits.

ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

Analysis of Stationary Random Responses for Non-Parametric Probabilistic Systems
The move from conceptual design, through fabrication to observation and measurement on the resulting physical structure is fraught with uncertainty. This, together with the necessary simplifications inherent when using the finite element technique, makes

Stochastic finite elements: Where is the physics? [PDF]
The micromechanics based on the Hill-Mandel condition indicates that the majority of stochastic finite element methods hinge on random field (RF) models of material properties (such as Hooke’s law) having no physical content, or even at odds with ...

Simulation of the small punch creep test with consideration of variation of material properties [PDF]
A new finite element model of the small punch creep test is described. The material constitutive relationship for creep considered is a simple Norton power law: in this study the exponent in the power law is varied for each element to simulate the random

Information theoretical inequalities have strong ties with polymatroids and their representability. A polymatroid is entropic if its rank function is given by the Shannon entropy of the subsets of some discrete random variables.

Multilevel quadrature for elliptic problems on random domains by the coupling of FEM and BEM [PDF]
Elliptic boundary value problems which are posed on a random domain can be mapped to a fixed, nominal domain. The randomness is thus transferred to the diffusion matrix and the loading.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.
