Spectrum-tailored random fiber laser towards ICF laser facility

open access: yesMatter and Radiation at Extremes, 2023
Broadband low-coherence light is considered to be an effective way to suppress laser plasma instability. Recent studies have demonstrated the ability of low-coherence laser facilities to reduce back-scattering during beam–target coupling.

Powerful narrow linewidth random fiber laser [PDF]

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2016
In this paper, we demonstrate a narrow linewidth random fiber laser, which employs a tunable pump laser to select the operating wavelength for efficiency optimization, a narrow-band fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and a section of single mode fiber to ...

Efficient 1054 nm Raman Random Fiber Laser [PDF]

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Low–coherence laser is regarded as the key to mitigating laser–plasma instability (LPI) in laser–driven inertial confinement fusion (ICF), where LPI can decrease the laser energy coupled to the target.

Generation of Narrow Modes in Random Raman Fiber Laser Based on Multimode Fiber [PDF]

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
We present a new design of a random Raman fiber laser based on a graded-index multimode fiber as the media composing the cavity that allows the generation of narrow spectral lines.

Hybrid electronically addressable random fiber laser [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Express, 2020
We report here a novel architecture for a random fiber laser exploiting the combination of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and an erbium doped fiber (EDF). The EDF was optically biased by a continuous wave pump laser, whereas the SOA was arranged in a fiber loop-mirror and driven by nanosecond duration current pulses. Laser pulses were obtained

Erbium doped random fiber laser and fiber mixing effect [PDF]

open access: yes2017 19th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2017
We demonstrate an active random fiber laser by directly pumping a 100 m erbium-doped fiber at 980 nm wavelength, with a fiber loop mirror forming a half-open cavity. Random lasing with competing spectral modes in the range from 1535 nm to 1560 nm is achieved, with the maximum lasing slope efficiency around 10%.

open access: yesShenzhen Daxue xuebao. Ligong ban, 2022
Aiming at the structural complexity of the current 1.7 μm band short pulse lasers, we propose and implement a self-synchronized picosecond pulsed random Raman fiber laser.

Narrow linewidth short cavity Brillouin random laser based on Bragg grating array fiber and dynamical population inversion gratings [PDF]

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
We report on random lasing observed with 100-m-long fiber comprising an array of weak FBGs inscribed in the fiber core and uniformly distributed over the fiber length.

Implementation of Er-doped random fiber laser self-mixing sensor with ultra-limit sensitivity

open access: yesAPL Photonics
This study first demonstrates that the random distributed feedback fiber laser (RDFL) can be implemented for sensing detection by using the self-mixing effect as a sensing mechanism.
