Random Finite Set Based Bayesian Filtering with OpenCL in a Heterogeneous Platform

open access: yesSensors, 2017
While most filtering approaches based on random finite sets have focused on improving performance, in this paper, we argue that computation times are very important in order to enable real-time applications such as pedestrian detection. Towards this goal,

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

Dynamic Interfacial Chemistry of Choline Chloride as Electrolyte Additive for Stable Zn‐Iodine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Choline chloride (ChCl) additive enables dynamic interface engineering in Zn‐I2 batteries by forming hydrophobic polyiodide complexes and a Zn‐stabilizing Ch+‐rich layer under electric field modulation. This dual‐function strategy suppresses iodine hydrolysis and dendrite formation, while optimizing Zn2+ solvation and transport for high‐efficiency ...

Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.

Generation of a random partition of a finite set by an urn model

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1983
AbstractA random partition of Nn = {1,…,n} may be generated by putting the elements of Nn at random into a stochastic number of cells. This representations is used to prove asymptotic results about the random partition for n → ∞.

Random structures for partially ordered sets

open access: yes, 2006
This thesis is presented in two parts. In the first part, we study a family of models of random partial orders, called classical sequential growth models, introduced by Rideout and Sorkin as possible models of discrete space-time.

Dye‐Initiated Chirped Cholesteric Polymer Networks Exhibiting Broadband Dissipative Chiral Photonic Bands

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dye‐based photoinitiator acting as a structure‐directing element, guides the formation of a cholesteric polymer network that behaves as a chirped photonic structure with dissipative chiral coupling. Photopolymerization freezes a depth‐dependent helical pitch, broadening the Bragg resonance spectrum.

Accurate and Robust Non-rigid Point Set Registration using Student’s-t Mixture Model with Prior Probability Modeling

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
A new accurate and robust non-rigid point set registration method, named DSMM, is proposed for non-rigid point set registration in the presence of significant amounts of missing correspondences and outliers.
