One dimensional random walks killed on a finite set
We study the transition probability, say $p_A^n(x,y)$, of a one-dimensional random walk on the integer lattice killed when entering into a non-empty finite set $A$. The random walk is assumed to be irreducible and have zero mean and a finite variance $σ^2$.

Twin Crystal Moiré Metasurfaces for Crossing Flat‐Band Transport
This study introduces twin crystal moiré metasurfaces, breaking in‐plane symmetry to enable reconfigurable acoustic wave manipulation. By adjusting the twin angle and interlayer twist angle, various combinations of hyperbolic, flat bands, and elliptic states can be synthesized in the system.

A bayesian formulation for multi-bernoulli random finite sets in multi-target tracking
The multi-Bernoulli random finite set (MB-RFS) filter is a recent model for efficiently performing multi-target tracking in video by representing the state as a multi-modal distribution, incorporating data association and target detection into the model ...

This work presents a programmable atomic engineering strategy for 2D materials using Å‐scale nanoreactors formed by bilayer graphene (BLG) intercalation. A new class of alkali‐iron‐chloride compounds, along with lateral heterostructures composed of monolayer alkali halides and iron chlorides, is revealed.

Dimension and measure theory of self-similar structures with no separation condition
We introduce methods to cope with self-similar sets when we do not assume any separation condition. For a self-similar set K ⊆ ℝᵈ we establish a similarity dimension-like formula for Hausdorff dimension regardless of any separation condition.

A printed superparamagnetic nanoparticle‐based flux guide enables the realization of a hysteresis‐free three‐axis magnetic sensor. This innovative architecture efficiently redirects out‐of‐plane fields to planar sensing elements, facilitating simultaneous vector detection without complex reset protocols.

Squares and difference sets in finite fields
For infinitely many primes p = 4k+1 we give a slightly improved upper bound for the maximal cardinality of a set B ⊂ Z p such that the difference set B−B contains only quadratic residues. Namely, instead of the ”trivial” bound |B| ≤ √p we prove |B √p

On the New Notion of the Set-Expectation for a Random Set of Events
The paper introduces new notion for the set-valued mean set of a random set. The means are defined as families of sets that minimize mean distances to the random set.

Tracking random sets of vehicles in terrain
This paper presents a particle filtering formulation for tracking an unknown and varying number of vehicles in terrain. The vehicles are modeled as a random set, i.e. a set of random variables, for which the cardinality is itself a random variable.
