Odd-flavored QCD_3 and Random Matrix Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We consider QCD_3 with an odd number of flavors in the mesoscopic scaling region where the field theory finite-volume partition function is equivalent to a random matrix theory partition function.

Staggered chiral random matrix theory

open access: yes, 2011
We present a random matrix theory (RMT) for the staggered lattice QCD Dirac operator. The staggered RMT is equivalent to the zero-momentum limit of the staggered chiral Lagrangian and includes all taste breaking terms at their leading order.

Duality in non-Hermitian random matrix theory

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
We consider 9 Gaussian matrix ensembles characterized by single symmetry among the 38-fold symmetry classification classes of non-Hermitian random matrices, and establish exact duality formulae of certain observables between them.

Many-Body Quantum Chaos: Analytic Connection to Random Matrix Theory

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2018
A key goal of quantum chaos is to establish a relationship between widely observed universal spectral fluctuations of clean quantum systems and random matrix theory (RMT).

Phiclust: a clusterability measure for single-cell transcriptomics reveals phenotypic subpopulations

open access: yesGenome Biology, 2022
The ability to discover new cell phenotypes by unsupervised clustering of single-cell transcriptomes has revolutionized biology. Currently, there is no principled way to decide whether a cluster of cells contains meaningful subpopulations that should be ...

Tensor product random matrix theory

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
The evolution of complex correlated quantum systems such as random circuit networks is governed by the dynamical buildup of both entanglement and entropy.

Enhancing Portfolio Allocation: A Random Matrix Theory Perspective

open access: yesMathematics
This paper explores the application of Random Matrix Theory (RMT) as a methodological enhancement for portfolio selection within financial markets.

Hydrodynamic Theory of the Connected Spectral form Factor

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2022
One manifestation of quantum chaos is a random-matrix-like fine-grained energy spectrum. Prior to the inverse level spacing time, random matrix theory predicts a “ramp” of increasing variance in the connected part of the spectral form factor. However, in

Raney Distributions and Random Matrix Theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2014
Recent works have shown that the family of probability distributions with moments given by the Fuss-Catalan numbers permit a simple parameterized form for their density. We extend this result to the Raney distribution which by definition has its moments given by a generalization of the Fuss-Catalan numbers.
