Ramsey Properties of Random Graphs and Folkman Numbers

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2017
For two graphs, G and F, and an integer r ≥ 2 we write G → (F)r if every r-coloring of the edges of G results in a monochromatic copy of F. In 1995, the first two authors established a threshold edge probability for the Ramsey property G(n, p) → (F)r ...

Generating Neutrosophic Random Variables Following the Poisson Distribution Using the Composition Method (The Mixed Method of Inverse Transformation Method and Rejection Method) [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
Simulation is a numerical technique used to perform tests on a numerical computer, and involves logical and mathematical relationships interacting with each other to describe the behavior and structure of a complex system in the real world over a period ...

Physical Randomness Extractors: Generating Random Numbers with Minimal Assumptions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
How to generate provably true randomness with minimal assumptions? This question is important not only for the efficiency and the security of information processing, but also for understanding how extremely unpredictable events are possible in Nature ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Perceiving Numbers Affects the Internal Random Movements Generator

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2012
According to the evidence of direct relationships among space, numbers, and finger representations, a random movement generation (RMG) task was employed in order to investigate whether numerical exposure can influence the finger selection of healthy ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Generation of pseudo-random numbers [PDF]

open access: yes
Practical methods for generating acceptable random numbers from a variety of probability distributions which are frequently encountered in engineering applications are described. The speed, accuracy, and guarantee of statistical randomness of the various

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

On Strong Law of Large Numbers for Dependent Random Variables

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2011
We discuss strong law of large numbers and complete convergence for sums of uniformly bounded negatively associate (NA) random variables (RVs). We extend and generalize some recent results.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.
