Bias in genetic evaluation using random regression test-day model
The effect of an upgraded Finnish evaluation model on bias in estimated breeding values for protein yield was investigated. Evaluations based on repeatability animal model and on random regression test-day model without and with heterogeneous variance ...

: Several studies have indicated that rumination could be used as a metric to monitor dairy cows' performance, condition, and health status. Along with applications in cow management, there may be scope to use rumination data in breeding programs ...

Adapting to Unknown Smoothness by Aggregation of Thresholded Wavelet Estimators [PDF]
We study the performances of an adaptive procedure based on a convex combination, with data-driven weights, of term-by-term thresholded wavelet estimators. For the bounded regression model, with random uniform design, and the nonparametric density model,

Estimation of the Genetic Parameters for Test-Day Milk, in Teleorman Black Head Sheep
The objective of this study was to determine the genetic parameters represented by heritability for test-day milk yield and the genetic correlation between test-days milk yield and the breeding value for Teleorman Black Head sheep. The genetic parameters

Sparsity oracle inequalities for the Lasso
This paper studies oracle properties of $\ell_1$-penalized least squares in nonparametric regression setting with random design. We show that the penalized least squares estimator satisfies sparsity oracle inequalities, i.e., bounds in terms of the ...

Random regression models for genetic evaluation of clinical mastitis in dairy cattle
A genetic analysis of longitudinal binary clinical mastitis (CM) data recorded on about 90 000 first-lactation Swedish Holstein cows was carried out using linear random regression models (RRM).

Random regression models for detection of gene by environment interaction [PDF]
Abstract Two random regression models, where the effect of a putative QTL was regressed on an environmental gradient, are described. The first model estimates the correlation between intercept and slope of the random regression, while the other model restricts this correlation to 1 or -1, which is expected under a bi-allelic QTL model.
