Four-factor computing experiment for the random walk on a two-dimensional square field [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2017
Nowadays the random search became a widespread and effective tool for solving different complex optimization and adaptation problems. In this work, the problem of an average duration of a random search for one object by another is regarded, depending on ...

QUANTUM SEARCH ON RANDOM GRAPHS

open access: yes, 2021
This project was motivated by the following question: what information do the properties of a random graph contain about the performance of a quantum search acting on it?

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Honey Bees Inspired Optimization Method: The Bees Algorithm

open access: yesInsects, 2013
Optimization algorithms are search methods where the goal is to find an optimal solution to a problem, in order to satisfy one or more objective functions, possibly subject to a set of constraints.

Implicit search trails for video recommendation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this demo paper we demonstrate our approach and system for using implicit actions involved in video search to provide recommendations to users. The goal of this system is to improve the quality of the results that users find, and in doing so, help ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

A hiring subsidy for long-term unemployed in a search model with PES and random search [PDF]

open access: yes
Our search model combines two search methods, the public employment service (PES) and random search. The separation rate is endogenous, the job matching process consists of three rounds.

Modeling a random search [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
A model for random search is considered which differs from the classical random search by modeling the random paths of the searcher and/or target as those of a Wiener process.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Hyperparameter Optimization for Tomato Leaf Disease Recognition Based on YOLOv11m

open access: yesPlants
The automated recognition of disease in tomato leaves can greatly enhance yield and allow farmers to manage challenges more efficiently. This study investigates the performance of YOLOv11 for tomato leaf disease recognition.
