Dispersion of the time spent in a state: General expression for unicyclic model and dissipation-less precision

open access: yes, 2017
We compare the relation between dispersion and dissipation for two random variables that can be used to characterize the precision of a Brownian clock. The first random variable is the current between states.

A Note on Fibonacci Sequences of Random Variables

open access: yesStatistica, 2022
The aim of this paper is to introduce and investigate the newrandom sequence in the form{X0, X1, Xn = Xn−2 +Xn−1, n = 2, 3, ..˙} , referred to as Fibonacci Sequence of Random Variables (FSRV).

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.

Quantum wiretap channel with non-uniform random number and its exponent and equivocation rate of leaked information

open access: yes, 2013
A usual code for quantum wiretap channel requires an auxiliary random variable subject to the perfect uniform distribution. However, it is difficult to prepare such an auxiliary random variable.

Random variable functions used in hydrology

open access: yesSelecciones Matemáticas, 2019
In this work, expressions of the cumulative distribution function of Y X, Y/X and X/(X + Y ) for continuous dependent random variables with supported on a unbounded and bounded interval are derived.

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

Averaging of random variables and fields [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We will prove that by averaging of random variables (r.v.) and random fields (r.f.) its tails of distributions do not increase in comparison with the tails of source variables, essentially or almost exact, under very weak conditions.

The carboxylate “gripper” of the substrate is critical for C‐4 stereo‐inversion by UDP‐glucuronic acid 4‐epimerase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
UDP‐glucuronic acid 4‐epimerase (UGAepi) catalyzes NAD+‐dependent interconversion of UDP‐glucuronic acid (UDP‐GlcA) and UDP‐galacturonic acid (UDP‐GalA) via C4‐oxidation, 4‐keto‐intermediate rotation, and C4‐reduction. Here, Borg et al. examined the role of the substrate's carboxylate group in the enzymic mechanism by analyzing NADH‐dependent reduction

Detecting Directed Interactions of Networks by Random Variable Resetting

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a novel method of detecting directed interactions of a general dynamic network from measured data. By repeating random state variable resetting of a target node and appropriately averaging over the measurable data, the pairwise coupling ...
