3D‐Printed Hygroscopic Polymer Networks for High‐Humidity Triboelectric Nanogenerators to Wirelessly Power Implantable Electronic Devices‐ A Conceptual Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work develops 3D‐printable tribopolymer networks that can enhance triboelectric performance under high humidity environments. Polar hydrophilic functional groups and incorporation of zwitterionic monomers promote bound‐water–dominated interfacial polarization thereby increasing electrical outputs.

Effect of core material on random vibration behaviour of foam-based laminated sandwich panels using a modified layerwise theory

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
This study investigates the vibration response of foam-based laminated sandwich panels (FLSP) under random loading. A modified layerwise displacement theory is employed to account for the varying material properties of the layers throughout the thickness.

Generation of Motion of Drops with Interfacial Contact

open access: yes, 2015
A liquid drop moves on a solid surface if it is subjected to a gradient of wettability or temperature. However, the pinning defects on the surface manifested in terms of a wetting hysteresis, or first-order nonlinear friction, limit the motion in the ...

Tracing Sub‐Monolayer Contamination on Wafer‐Scale 2D Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sub‐monolayer adventitious carbon contamination limits the performance and reproducibility of 2D material‐based devices. This study demonstrates scanning helium microscopy (SHeM) as a non‐destructive, ultra‐sensitive tool for wafer‐scale imaging of surface cleanliness.

A Universal Interfacial Dipole Strategy for Defect Suppression in Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells With Tunable Bandgaps

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 2D heterointerface with a two‐site anchor bridge suppresses nonradiative recombination at the perovskite/C₆₀ interface by reducing surface defects, elevating the Fermi level, and strengthening the electric field. This strategy enables efficient electron extraction, delivering 26.32% efficiency, 1.217 V Voc, excellent operational stability, and broad ...

Unlocking Multi‐Valley Energy Pockets and Interface‐Induced Phonon Filtering in InSb Thermoelectrics by Reaction‐Driven Interface Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
InSb, a narrow‐bandgap semiconductor with high carrier mobility, is promising for thermoelectric energy conversion but suffers from high lattice thermal conductivity and strong bipolar conduction. Here, in situ interface engineering using Co2O3 nanoprecursors forms hierarchical CoSbx/In2O3/CoSb3 heterostructures that enhance phonon scattering and ...

Design Strategies and Emerging Applications of High‐Performance Flexible Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

Random Wind Vibration Control of Transmission Tower-Line Systems Using Shape Memory Alloy Damper

open access: yesBuildings
Shape memory alloy dampers (SMADs) are widely applied in structural vibration control due to their excellent superelastic properties. However, there has been no research on the random wind-induced vibration control of transmission tower-line (TTL ...
