A Coordinate Descent Primal-Dual Algorithm and Application to Distributed Asynchronous Optimization [PDF]
Based on the idea of randomized coordinate descent of $\alpha$-averaged operators, a randomized primal-dual optimization algorithm is introduced, where a random subset of coordinates is updated at each iteration.

On Application of the Ray-Shooting Method for LQR via Static-Output-Feedback
In this article we suggest a randomized algorithm for the LQR (Linear Quadratic Regulator) optimal-control problem via static-output-feedback. The suggested algorithm is based on the recently introduced randomized optimization method called the Ray ...

Random forest missing data algorithms [PDF]
Random forest (RF) missing data algorithms are an attractive approach for imputing missing data. They have the desirable properties of being able to handle mixed types of missing data, they are adaptive to interactions and nonlinearity, and they have the potential to scale to big data settings.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

COARSE REDUCIBILITY AND ALGORITHMIC RANDOMNESS [PDF]
AbstractA coarse description of a set A ⊆ ω is a set D ⊆ ω such that the symmetric difference of A and D has asymptotic density 0. We study the extent to which noncomputable information can be effectively recovered from all coarse descriptions of a given set A, especially when A is effectively random in some sense.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
