Vegetation characteristics, rangeland status and health determination of some natural rangelands
This research was carried out in 2015 in order to determine vegetation characteristics, rangelands status and health of some natural rangelands. Studied rangelands are located in Diyarbakir province Cermik subprovince with average 950 meters altitude and 2-5% slope in Artuk, Agachan, Sarıbalta and Orenkur villages.

The collective application of shorebird tracking data to conservation
Abstract Addressing urgent conservation issues, such as the drastic declines of North American migratory birds, requires creative, evidence‐based, efficient, and collaborative approaches. The abundance of over 50% of monitored North American shorebird populations has declined by over 50% since 1980. To address these declines, we developed a partnership

Rangeland degradation is a persistent decline in the productivity of vegetation that supports wild or domestic herbivores. However, rangelands often exhibit highly variable climates and dynamic, resilient vegetation, making it difficult to discriminate ...

Comprehensive framework for assessing and optimizing existing research networks
Abstract Conservation, monitoring, and research networks, or collections of ecological research sites unified under a common mission of data collection or a research mission, are essential infrastructure for understanding large landscapes. However, most networks developed opportunistically over decades rather than through systematic design, creating ...

Abstract Procedural, distributional, recognitional, and epistemic justice aspects of conservation interventions are well documented in contexts where pastoralism is a key livelihood and way of life. Geospatial analyses and representations of wildlife conservation and restoration that are increasingly applied in pastoralist rangeland socioecological ...

Abstract Introduction Over half of dryland ecosystems worldwide are degraded, making restoration a priority. Most dryland restoration efforts use seed‐based approaches, which often result in limited establishment of desirable species. The dual challenges of abiotic stressors and invasive species dominance are key barriers to native plant community ...
