Vegetation, Soil, and Animal Indicators of Rangeland Health

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 1998
We studied indicators of rangeland health on benchmark sites with long, well documented records of protection from stress by domestic livestock or histories of environmental stress and vegetation change. We measured ecosystem properties (metrics) that were clearly linked to ecosystem processes.

Dissipation of Picloram from Vegetation of Semiarid Rangelands

Weed Science, 1971
About 25 ppm of 4-amino-3,5,6-trichloropicolinic acid (picloram) usually were detected on grass, primarily buffalograss (Buchloe dactyloides(Nutt.) Engelm.) and blue grama (Bouteloua gracilisWilld.exHBK LagexGriffiths), immediately after application of 0.28 kg/ha picloram + 0.28 kg/ha (2,4,5-trichlorophenoxy)acetic acid (2,4,5-T) in northwest Texas ...

Interrill erosion and roughness parameters of vegetation in rangelands

CATENA, 2017
Abstract In recent decades, the micro-region of Paraiba state, Brazil, has been undergoing the process of replacing its native coverage by crops, mainly pastures for grazing. This land use change has led to the detachment of soil due to the water erosion.

Vegetation-soil relationships on arid and semiarid rangelands

1988
Vegetation-soil relationships on rangelands, or any other lands must include all ecosystem components. That soil is a function of climate, organisms, topography, parent materials, and time establishes the basic model. Rangeland plant community distribution and species composition are known to be related to specific soil properties such as soil climate (

Evaluation and Determination of Rangeland Vegetation in Kayseri Province

2014

Wind erosion in sparsely vegetated rangelands

In this dissertation a wind erosion model for sparsely vegetated rangelands has been developed which uses a small set of key input parameters while also incorporating stochastic methods to capture the inherent variability of threshold shear velocities.

Rangeland Condition, Health and Biodiversity Assessments for Two Rangeland Vegetations in The Central Anatolia Region

2016
