The Reversal Poset of Signed Permutations

open access: yes, 2021
The set of signed permutations S±(n) has a fascinating structure. A reversal acting on a permutation π ∈ S±(n) reverses the order of elements in consecutive positions and changes their signs. As a group, S±(n) is generated by the collection of reversals.

A New Approach to the Rank Reversal Phenomenon in MCDM with the SIMUS Method

open access: yes, 2016
When a ranking is obtained for a set of projects, the introduction of a new project, worse than the others, may sometimes perturb the ranking. This is called rank reversal, and happens in most Multi Criteria Decision Making models.

Field-Induced Ferroaxiality in Antiferromagnets with Magnetic Toroidal Quadrupole

open access: yesCondensed Matter
Magnetic toroidal multipoles have recently emerged as key descriptors of unconventional cross-correlation phenomena in antiferromagnetic systems. Among them, the rank-2 magnetic toroidal quadrupole, which is characterized as a time-reversal-odd polar ...

Stochastic Judgments in the AHP: The Measurement of Rank Reversal Probabilities

open access: yes, 1994
Recently, the issue of rank reversal of alternatives in the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has captured the attention of a number of researchers.

AN ANALYSIS OF RANK PRESERVATION AND REVERSAL IN THE ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS

open access: yes, 1996
The Analytic Hiemrchy Process (AHP) is an extensively used tool for setting up the rank order of the alternatives in multiple criteria decision making problems. AHP has been widely applied in practice with illconsistent paired comparison matrices.

Strategy management through quantitative modelling of performance measurement systems

open access: yes, 2001
This paper is based on previous works on performance measurement and on quantification of relationships between factors which affect performance. It demonstrates how tools and techniques developed can be used to evaluate the performance of alternative ...

Non-discriminating Criteria in theAHP : Removal and Rank Reversal

open access: yes, 2009
A non-discriminating criterion is defined as a criterion where the decision-maker is indifferent among the alternatives. One would therefore expect the final rank order of the alternatives not to be affected by removing it.

Resolving Rank Reversal in TOPSIS: A Comprehensive Analysis of Distance Metrics and Normalization Methods

open access: yes
This paper examines ranking reversal (RR) in Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) using the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS).
