Estimation of Variance of Normal Distribution using Ranked Set Sampling
Introduction In some biological, environmental or ecological studies, there are situations in which obtaining exact measurements of sample units are much harder than ranking them in a set of small size without referring to their precise values.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

U-Statistics and Imperfect Ranking in Ranked Set Sampling
Ranked set sampling has attracted considerable attention as an e#cient sampling design, particularly for environmental and ecological studies. A number of authors have noted a gain in e#ciency over ordinary random sampling when specific estimators and ...

Moving Set Size Ranked Set Sampling
A new variation of ranked set sampling technique, entitled "Moving set size ranked set sampling", (MSSRSS), is suggested. The suggested variation allows for the increase of the number of units that can be chosen by judgement. The suitability of this modified technique for the estimation of parameters of the underlying distribution of ...

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

On General Weighted Extropy of Ranked Set Sampling
In the past six years, a considerable attention has been given to the extropy measure proposed by Lad et al. (2015). Weighted Extropy of Ranked Set Sampling was studied and compared with simple random sampling by Qiu et al. (2022).

RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

New mean charts for bivariate asymmetric distributions using different ranked set sampling designs
The purpose of this study is to construct the mean control chart limits based on Shewhart, weighted variance and skewness correction methods using simple random sampling, ranked set sampling, median ranked set sampling and neoteric ranked set sampling ...
