Characterization of Recovered Bitumen from Coarse and Fine Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement Particles

open access: yesInfrastructures, 2019
In the current era of road construction, it is common to add a small amount of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) in asphalt mixes without significantly changing properties such as stiffness and low-temperature cracking resistance. Not only can these mixes

Rap Müzikte Toplumsal Cinsiyet Temsilleri: Toplumsal Cinsiyet Klişeleri, Hegemonik Erkeklik ve Cinsiyetçilik

open access: yesLectio Socialis, 2021

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

AN EFFECTIVE CORPORATE CULTURE AS A NECESSARY CONDITION FOR STRATEGIC STABILITY

open access: yesМодернизация, инновация, развитие, 2016
During global economic crisis, conflict situations at Russian enterprises should be overcome by improving the corporate culture. Corporate culture helps companies to adapt to changing external and internal business environment.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Quantitative Analysis of the Blending Degree of Virgin and RAP Binders in Recycled Asphalt Mixtures with a High RAP Content

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Recycled asphalt mixtures (RAM), which are prepared by blending reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), virgin bitumen and mineral additives, provide a variety of advantages, including resource recycling, reductions in costs, and reduced negative environmental

Rapping about Mechanotransduction [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopmental Cell, 2018
Mechanical cues can regulate cell proliferation and differentiation through the Hippo-YAP signaling network. Reporting in Nature, Meng et al. (2018) show that the Ras-related GTPase RAP2 connects extracellular matrix stiffness to Hippo pathway regulation, adding to our understanding of how mechanical cues are converted into changes in YAP activity.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
