On Raptor Codes

2006 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2006
We introduce a construction of raptor codes to be used over symmetric channels. An important property of the proposed scheme is that unlike the previous construction of raptor codes, it allows to design codes that are approaching the capacity of the underlying channel in a rate-compatible way.

RAPTOR

ACM SIGGRAPH 2002 conference abstracts and applications, 2002
Paleontology is filled with mysteries about organisms such as plants and animals that lived thousands, millions, and billions of years before the first modern humans walked the earth. To solve these mysteries, paleontologists rely on the excavation, analysis, and interpretation of fossils.

Raptor Sedation and Anesthesia

Veterinary Clinics of North America: Exotic Animal Practice, 2022
Sedation and/or anesthesia is routinely and successfully used in raptors for a wide variety of procedures from the routine such as physical examination, radiographs, or venipuncture, to the more complex, such as orthopedic surgeries. Understanding the anatomy and physiology of raptor patients who present for care, and being fully prepared before the ...

RAPTOR

Proceedings of the 36th SIGCSE technical symposium on Computer science education, 2005
When students are learning to develop algorithms, they very often spend more time dealing with issues of syntax rather than solving the problem. Additionally, the textual nature of most programming environments works against the learning style of the majority of students.

The Aging Raptor

Veterinary Clinics of North America: Exotic Animal Practice, 2010
There is little information available in the literature regarding geriatric raptor medicine. Estimating the life span of birds of prey and evaluating factors that influence longevity are continuing to be explored. Identifying disease conditions that arise with advancing age may involve various body systems including the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular,

Raptor Therapeutics

Veterinary Clinics of North America: Exotic Animal Practice, 2000
Developing a therapeutic plan for raptors can be challenging because the veterinarian must take numerous and sometimes conflicting factors into consideration. Successful therapy depends on proper management of the raptor patient, beginning with its initial presentation and continuing throughout its time in captivity. Important considerations concerning

Raptor Gastroenterology

Veterinary Clinics of North America: Exotic Animal Practice, 2014
Free-living raptors are frequently presented to wildlife rehabilitation centers. Conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract can be the primary reason for presentation. The gastrointestinal tract can also be affected secondary to debilitation from other injuries or from the stress of the rehabilitation process.

Cardiac Disease of Raptors

Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery, 2022
Cardiac disease, in its various presentations, is being recognized as a common raptor health problem. Evidence suggests that the prevalence of cardiac disease varies between captive and wild bird of prey populations, probably because of differences in activity levels and diet.

Raptor Pediatrics

Veterinary Clinics of North America: Exotic Animal Practice
Neonatal and juvenile raptors may differ from adults in their husbandry, disease predispositions, and medical therapies. There are differences between captive bred juveniles and those presented for rehabilitation to the wild, which must be taken into consideration for successful long-term outcomes.
